3 realistic signings

No idea about names but we need the following:
Right back replacement for Matthews to allow O’Nien to play in midfield
A physical centre half who is experienced at this level (or higher) and can organise a defence
A big athletic midfield player who can run with the ball
Quick mobile strikers
A winger who is at least as quick as Morgan but who hopefully is capable of playing 90 minutes and can jump to complete for headers.

The main message that should be drummed into whoever has responsibility for recruitment is that the players targeted should be big and quick.

We need strong, quick athletic players to add pace and strength to the squad.

So many times this season when the players shake hands with the opposition before the game it looks like a dads vs the lads game. Our squad seems tiny compared to most in this league.

Maddison Clarke and Lowe but I reckon they will get few players then opt to blood some youth players in preseason and give the youth a shot

It won't take much to basically finish this team off. The components are good but just a little too different, we have good wide players but not for the target man game Wyke suits.

Likewise a base of Catt's and Leadbitter can be very solid but puts an awful lot of pressure on the 3rd midfielder to be extremely dynamic. So 3 signings could well be perfect.

Who are these 3? Judging by January, it will be decided by names pulled out of a tombola

We need quality in midfield, someone with strength and a bit of guile. Need to be looking at Premier League/Championship players that have shown the quality just hasn’t happened.

Will have a word with my friend as her cousin is Henri Lansbury, won’t be staying at Villa I wouldn’t imagine. Always had the ability just not quite worked out.

Reece James can get his brother Matty James from Leicester to join him too. He has a bit of quality.

Whats the 3 you'd most like to see.

For me they would be:
Freddie Ladapo
Marcus Maddison
Matt Clarke

Maddison and Clarke would be difficult to get but money really does talk at this level and if we want to go up next year we do have to spend some. Ladapo we should be able to get out of Plymouth at a decent price.

We’ve absolutely no chance with Clarke!

Maddison & Nelson on frees would be a good start.

Hopefully we’ve scouted someone from the lower leagues with power and pace  Any of those Coventry lads out of contract? They seemed quick ;)

They took an option on him for another year

Hadn’t heard about that. Balls. He was already a lads player in my head

Important that we hang on to a few key playres, particularly the keeper and McGeady if we can afford him.

We need a good young striker so realistically we'll have to be looking at up and coming in League 2 or maybe Scotland. No way can we afford an established goal scorer.

A right back unless O'Nien is going to stay there, two centre halves, attacking midfielder.

If money talks then how come we spent double what the rest of the league spent combined and still finished 5th?

I would also move Grigg on at a loss. Might be harsh on only half a season but we need upwardly mobile players who can make the step up. We can’t just buy players for the league we are in, we need a strategy that involves future signings complimenting the place, not an upheaval every year as it is a self fulfilling prophecy of failure.

Will Grigg is quality at this level. Jack Ross needs to find the system that suits him. This is problem when managers don't sign own players

Matt Clarke

We’re desperate for some pace and trickery, how about Jason Sancho? He’s English so would probably be keen to return here

He any relation to Jadon?

Chuks Aneke is a free, perfect for us. Pace, power. Best finishing rate in League Two last year and proven record in League One.
Ryan Tafazolli - defender from Peterborough, free, perfect for us.
Marcus Maddison has a year left on his contract now
Mo Eisa is back available, hasn't worked for him at Bristol - likewise with Hakeeb Adelakun - double move for those two will give us much needed pace.
Funso Ojo at Scunny - has always impressed

We need to look at the way we want to play and recruit accordingly. It’s absolutely no good breaking transfer records at this level as we did with Grigg only for our centre halves to boom long balls up to him as a loan striker.

That’s been the most disappointing aspect of this season for me; there’s been no obvious change in either playing style or recruitment. It’s been pragmatic, horses for courses football and disjointed short termist recruitment. Nothing has changed from the previous seasons one at all on that front
Totally. Grigg is here next season given what he's cost. Play to his strengths.
