Updates will be weekly after Friday 1st July 2022​

From Friday 1 July 2022, the COVID-19 Dashboard will move to weekly reporting. The last daily update of the Dashboard will be on Friday 1 July 2022. Weekly updates will be published every Wednesday at 4pm commencing on 6 July 2022.
Daily data up to the most recent available will continue to be added in each weekly update.
This will bring COVID-19 reporting in line with typical reporting schedules for other respiratory infections. This approach reflects the move from an emergency pandemic response to managing COVID-19 in line with the Government's Living with COVID strategy. This decision will be kept under review in the coming weeks.




Testing in England​

Testing is where we do a test to see who has coronavirus. Some people are tested more than once.
Between 17 June 2022 and 23 June 2022, there have been 1,200,568 tests. This shows an increase of 5.2% compared to the previous 7 days.

Cases in England​

A confirmed case is someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.
Between 13 June 2022 and 19 June 2022, 87,147 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows an increase of 30.3% compared to the previous 7 days.



Vaccinations in England​

Vaccines are given in several doses.
45,051,354 people had been given a first dose by the end of 23 June 2022.
42,127,788 people had been given a second dose by the end of 23 June 2022.
33,160,563 people had been given a booster or third dose by the end of 23 June 2022.

Healthcare in England​

Some people with coronavirus have to go into hospital.
Between 16 June 2022 and 22 June 2022, 6,733 went into hospital with coronavirus. This shows an increase of 40.7% compared to the previous 7 days.
There were 6,752 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 24 June 2022.
Some people in the hospital need to use a special device called a mechanical ventilator to help them breathe.
There were 168 coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on 24 June 2022.



Deaths in England​

Between 13 June 2022 and 19 June 2022, there have been 313 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test.This shows an increase of 8.7% compared to the previous 7 days.
