My man, Roman Bardet, did well but, as you say, Quick Step are kicking everyone’s arses at the moment. Elia Viviani will still be weeping for missing the win in Gent-Wevelgem as just about everyone else in the team has had a win.

Windy as owt the day. Did get a tail wind up the ryals though, which meant I didn't get off my bike for the first time on them. Up to sixty miles but not getting any faster.

I'm thinking of doing those. Whats the best point to join that road ?

We went from kirkhale for a coffee and the best sausage sarnie of my life, so from there.

Missed out on my best time on the ryals as I stopped 5 yards before the end of the bloody segment. Got all pbs on the rest of the Ryal segments though. Absolutely shattered here.

Yesterday on my ride to work I managed to puncture both tyres on the same pot hole! How bad is that for luck?

Worse for some than others. I know some only carry one spare tube, and the numpties don't carry any. But yes, shit luck. Shoulda gone to specsavers.

I always have two spares thankfully, can't understand those who don't have any.

Always two tubes and two CO2 spare cartridges( plus one ready in inflator) touch wood that's generally been enough

The other half however takes nowt but her mobile....

I prefer to carry a small pump along with one spare inner tube and a box of them self-adhesive repair patches. Only carry CO2 cartridge instead + patches as emergency when doing TT. I once got caught out with CO2 when I replaced puncture with a tube that I hadn't noticed was damaged & I emptied the cartridge before I realised it wasn't inflating. So even though I had the wherewithal to repair the f***ing tube I was f***ing stranded then.

Mostly only a problem when doing a longer ride solo. If everyone has a couple of tubes, you're pretty much okay. On my rd bike i also have a pump and a gas cylinder/pump.

Same for me up to 200km, then 2 tubes when going longer than that. Never bothered with Co2, but keep meaning to pick up an inflator and give it a go.

I know some people who carry 3 or 4 on audax distance rides, but I couldn't be arsed.
