2017/2018 season renewals

So far this season I have paid approx. £40 per point at home and £35 per goal at home

Will still be renewing but it's just as well our ST prices are 'cheap'. The club couldn't really justify putting prices up since we are shite season after season

Very reasonably priced imo.
be interesting to see if Bain re-hired the redundant staff and then hiked the season ticket prices to cover it.

fucks sake, bain doesn't hav a clue, hiring far too many people and we have to pay for it etc.

damned if he does damned if he doesnt

exactly. most championship clubs pay more and there are even league one clubs that are more expensive. i think people sometimes take for granted that we have one of the best football stadia in the country alongside unbelievable value for money tickets.

The ticket prices are one of the few things the club actually get right

I will of course renew but I am torn as to the people who won't.
One part of me wants to call them names, other other part understands just how bad it is.

At one point I would've said this however now I don't blame people for not renewing, the club don't deserve the support they get.

I think if we get relegated match day next season will be better - worse opposition but better performances, more wins, more goals. Watching this shambles in the Prem is just torture.

I'd never call anyone who has got so sick of it that they've decided not to renew. Can hardly blame them and, although I agree with most that the season ticket prices are as low as we could reasonably expect, for many families that £400 or so quid could be spent more wisely elsewhere.

That being said I'll still renew. Like others I've got a young child now and match day is one of the few days I get to go out, see my mates and have a drink like I used to. I also love away days with the older bairn and, having got to just over 30 loyalty points, don't fancy giving it up. Equally I know that if I wasn't there I'd only end up glued to sky sports news or frantically looking for a stream. If all I paid for was the "entertainment" on the pitch I'd chuck it like, thankfully there's enough additional to that to keep me going even if I can fully understand others not bothering.

the prices are only low in comparison to the rest of football, still too high imho

not that any of us would give a shit if we were actually enjoying it

I won't be renewing but it's not down to the cost of the tickets. I live in Dublin (look at me etc), and while the matches are a good excuse to fly home and see family and friends, more often than not I'm getting up at the crack of dawn on a Saturday morning to travel to the airport then fly to Newcastle and then end up leaving the ground at 60mins cos we're getting thumped 3-0 off Stoke or Southampton or whatever.

I always try and book my flights as early as possible to avoid the costs, but the Man City and Man Utd game have both been moved and I'm now stuck with flights back that mean I can't even get to the game, admittedly my fault booking before fixtures are confirmed but it just further detracts from my feeling of value for money. I said I wasn't going to renew last season but then those last couple of home games I really thought we were onto something special with Allardyce and the team he was building - look how that turned out!

Should we get a new owner and there isnt' a feeling of perpetual doom hanging over the Stadium of Light then I'll 100% come back as a season ticket holder, but until then I'll just pick and choose the odd game from next season, whatever league that may be in.

Work commitments now make it a right chew on for midweek matches and relegation will mean more of them. That'll be the end for me season ticket/card since 1988 and time to pick and choose my games.

I reckon a lot of people wont be renewing this year as games really are a chore and for me are getting in the way of a good day out. The club need to do something to like a membership of monthly direct debits so say £350 season ticket at £29 a month that way it wont hurt people so much in the pocket. I know the prices are fair but by spreading over the year i reckon would work better for a load of people.

I'm done after this season as well, most of the lads that used to come with us are packing in or have already done so, our lass (no) has had enough as well, it's got to the point where it's become a chore to go and watch the game, the club has sucked any enjoyment there was left clean out, so at 47 I'm bowing out...

I'll be renewing, I've talked myself into thinking if we go down I'd probably enjoy the football and away days a lot more than currently, if we stay up I'd hope for a big improvement, the Premier League feels like a chore at the moment.

I don't blame you or your friends, or whoever decides to chuck it in, one thing is for sure if you reflect even 10% of our crowd inside the stadium next seasons numbers will fall, i just wonder how low its going to be.
