2014 fixtures

Just had a response from ECB informing that 2014 1st class fixture list will be published on the morning of 26th Novemder i.e. a week on Tuesday.

Not really. They are usually always released in November and a lot of cricket watchers start thinking of this time from when the previous cricket season ended.

I suppose. To be fair after playing all summer though most of the lads I know won't be givign cricket a second thought until January!!

Since we have Middlesex in our group for the One day Cup a trip down to Lords would be nice.

Just me that thinks they should do the one day stuff the other way round? I mean having the "NatWest T20 Blast" through the season, from the start, will mean loads of chopping and changing. Get it condensed into a month.

And no "minnow" in our one day group?

Apparently a lot of counties have been wanting this change for a few years so that they can play their home matches on a Friday night when they get bigger crowds. They wanted it over a longer period so they don't end up playing 3 home matches in a week which they now view as overkill. Be interesting to see what the Riverside is like on a Friday night in early May,could be a bit chilly.
