I'm riding to Carlisle in the next couple of days. Did it a few times, but this time I think I'll go all the way to the coast. Starting from Roker, where does the SMB reckon I need to go to make it a coast to coast ride? Silloth? Allonby?

Here Pretty equidistant from Carlisle. Siloth has quite a lot of heavy traffic and narrow roads. Particularly the main one from Wigton to Silloth. I'm not sure I would like to cycle on it..

sounds canny. I assume head west on day #1 into prevailing? in terrain terms I'd prefer to do east to west I think.
