I was 8 in 1966.

I remember the wall charts , stickers and World Cup Willy.
On the day mum and neighbours wife’s were making sandwiches and nibbles and the blokes arrived with wooden crates of Lion Brewery brown ale.
The house was packed with all us kids sat at the front in front of a tiny black and white19” tv.
We all did Nobby Stiles little jig later and Alan Ball covered every blade of grass that day .Bobby Moore wiped his hand on his shirt before shaking the Queens hand.

Great memories and thoughts of those that day who are no longer with us which is sadly most of them .

Is that group of people sat pitch-side all in black behind the goal the press? Guaranteed to have had a few shots at them if so!

Its actually a bit of a shit game
It's very different to the game today. Quick pace; no possession football, just playing through balls down the channels and the wings; lots of physical challenge; no shit-housery; end to end stuff. I like it personally.
Also, I haven't seen a shirt-pull or even laying a hand on an opponent in the whole game :)
