18,000 Poles at Wembley

It was either give them 18k or have 10,000 empty seats in the home ends (or 10,000 poles) whichever way you look at it.[DOUBLEPOST=1381832982][/DOUBLEPOST]
There'll still be poles in the home end, Just like Ireland and Scotland (who both failed to sell out their away allocation)

Jocks filled it mate - that top corner was kept empty for a reason one of them were saying in the pub.

Remember the Croatia game in 2007 when they had half the lower tier? They were as noisy as fuck, you can't tell me that didn't have an affect on the players and look what happened there.

Should be a cracking night. The atmopshere on Friday was really good. By far the best atmospheres in recent years has been Ghana, Ireland (to a lesser extent as the Irish were a bit subdued) and Scotland. Wembley can be a morgue but it does respond well to big away allocations and important games. I have not looked forward to a match so much for a long time.

Ha'way England.

considering wembley is supposedly a 90,000 seater stadium, why do we keep only having 85~k "sellouts"? Also, 18,000 poles is still a lot less than 60,000 English, if England get out sung then it's no fault but our own.

Absolutely crazy decision by the FA to double the Polish allocation for tonight. Made on the grounds that there would be loads of Poles mingling with the England fans. So what, let them at least they wouldn't be making as much noise. It's gonna feel like a home game for them now, making life much harder for the England team. It's like SAFC giving Man Utd 6000 tickets cos their fans would be dotted about The Sol. Totally counter productive IMO.

You might be over exaggerating the affect that the fans have there...

seeing 20st 40 year old blokes jump up and wave little st georges flags about on little sticks when we scored on friday looked pathetic imo and pretty much sums up the new wembley/england.

Agreed. It's a shocking idea.

We nearly always do well when we have a bumper away allocation.

I forgot that football is actually about the level of noise generated by spectators, rather than what takes place on the pitch.

Seats not taken up by Club Wembley members i.e. season ticket holders are not put on general sale due to the fact that there is no segregation in those areas.

That together with the normal segregation may account for the missing thousands.

So we make a bit of noise back  If they're overawed by a few poles they needn't bother going to Brazil

If 60,000+ folk can't make more noise than 18,000 then what does that say about the English atmosphere? Good job those attending will have little flags from sports direct mind. That'll help!

Great to see the Polish showing such support in numbers for their new found home.

No beer is being served in the ground.

Should have given them the minimum number of tickets, so the rest of us can enjoy a slurp at half time.

disclaimer: I've never been to Wembley so the above may or may not be accurate.
