18,000 Poles at Wembley

Absolutely crazy decision by the FA to double the Polish allocation for tonight. Made on the grounds that there would be loads of Poles mingling with the England fans. So what, let them at least they wouldn't be making as much noise. It's gonna feel like a home game for them now, making life much harder for the England team. It's like SAFC giving Man Utd 6000 tickets cos their fans would be dotted about The Sol. Totally counter productive IMO.

England's fans are shite at the new Wembley. The Poles will have no problem out singing them.

I think its a stupid decision by the FA. I would have given them 9000 Max.

The press reaction will be hillarious. As will the reaction on here.

A club over country football fan here, plus a scottish dad so never cared about international football since I was a kid.

I like to see England win, almost as much as I like to see The Lads win, I just don't expect much from either! ;)

The 1966 winners have only just sold their allocation four days ago do you want your FA to have potentially unsold seats or take a wedge from the Polish and pay off one of the exective suites

There'll still be poles in the home end, Just like Ireland and Scotland (who both failed to sell out their away allocation)

The large electronic signs down Wembley way with 'Ireland Allocation Sold Out' on the day of that match was a very strange thing to do then. Certainly didnt look or sound like it wasnt sold out

you're right considering the amount of empty seats dotted about the upper tier

The term to describe someone from Poland is a Pole, the term to describe someone from Pakistan is a Pakistani. 'Paki' is a derogatory term outside the scope of descriptions of nationality.

Which is slightly unusual as most of the time "nicknames" are used to shortened a name/word, not make them longer. I.e Pole, Brit, Aussie etc etc.

Really looking forward to the game tonight. The crowd on Friday had a buzz to it as people cared about the result and weren't waiting to win whilst moaning at every pass.
