All these French players........

I suppose NUFC may be doing us a favour short term and possibly long term.

1) All the French (French Speaking) players (who will certainly know each other from the French league) will help current and new players (from both clubs) settle in the area.
2) This will also help SAFC attract French players.

Geographically, with both clubs being quite remote Premier League clubs, we can certainly help each other out in this respect!

Arrrrrrgh.... MODS PF this shite please...!

Re: Another one on the way for the skunks?

Another target from the summer, which begs the question why we are just buying these players now.

That said, this one has been denied by the club. Can't see us spending any more.

Re: Another one on the way for the skunks?

Aubameyang on the way for 12m euro they reckon. Surely they wont be spending more.

hahah! .its quality to think how much al this panic buying is costing them just to stay in the division. Even if it all works as well as it can they will be cash strapped, finish no higher than 10th and have a rake of players on the books that they would rather replace.

This period is a big set back to the overall plan for them

Conflicting stories that we have/haven't bid 10.5 mill euro but they want 12mill. Can't see it myself. Going back for Thauvin may be more likely.

mike ashley is a businessman and he views players as products to be bought and sold.

at the moment there is value to be had in france and he is buying players up at lowish prices (although this one seems a bit more pricey), putting them on long contracts to protect his investement and hoping to sell on at a higher price.

he only needs one in 3 or 4 to move onto a big club to fund the whole process.

from his previous batch if Tiote or Cabaye moved on for £10m+ on top of the Ba fee he would have just about funded the whole batch.

in this current batch which has cost c£13m (not including Debuchy) I could easily see one of them moving on for that fee at some point.

Obviously wages and agent fees are not included here but from a business angle it looks sensible.

The problem may be what effect it has to the performances on the pitch in the short term and the effectiveness of the manager to turn them into a team.

This is genuinely the first window when I haven't heard of a single Newcastle signing or target before they were linked. It will end in tears.

That could say more about you than the players.

are you saying that you hadn't heard of Debuchy or Sissoko ?

You must not get much further than the SOL then. Sissoko and Debuchy are internationals, as is Mbiwa, albeit he only has a couple of caps.

I agree with a lot of posts on here though, Goufran is a panic buy off the back of Remy not coming and the left back Haidara is one who looks like he has brought in as backup or for the future.

These players are all player that we should have gone for in the summer. Every Newcastle fan knew we were short at the back and that we needed cover for Tiote/Cabaye.
