..since i had my last drink. Been a hard, hard slog but i'm in a great place now. All thanks to my lovely wife, can't thank her enough. Such a wonderful person, "in sickness and in health"..she said that to me this time last year, unbelievable she is. Thanks for all the kind messages i've received on here over the last yr. Had camera down last week and varices vein in throat from the drink has gone! Which is a massive relief, also no cancerous cells found from my damaged liver. Scirrhosis will be with me for life but we are keeping on top of itπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ Off to Rotherham tonight with my son. Couldn't be happier!! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Thanks again everyone. Take care.πŸ‘

Thanks everyone, not doing this for 'likes' or anything just needed to 'shout it out' after the horrible place i was in this time last year. No recovery organisations involved at all..just my wife being there when many would have left. Thank you all.πŸ‘ Sunderland and getting 3 points is my biggest worry now!
Deserves shouting out. Well done and keep it going. πŸ‘

Good stuff, enjoy Rotherham with the lad!

That's absolutely fantastic, you should be super proud of yourself. Massive well done.

It's coming up to 4 years for me this summer, I only used to drink on a night (vodka though every night and far too much, about 2-3 litres a week). So pleased I done it, it's made a huge difference to my mental health, anxiety, sleep, health and overall general mood. I used to walk around in a fog every day, now I have so much more energy. I don't give alcohol a thought these days, best thing I ever done.

Hope you and your lad enjoy the match tonight xx

Great to see mate.
27 yrs for me March 4th. I could not have done it without the support of family friends and a support group.
That time has not been a bed of roses but on the other side of the coin I have walked two daughters down the aisle, was at a grandaughters engagement party last week and am watching a grandson grow up. If I had kept drinking it was a early grave for me so I would probably not have seen these things happen.
Yes others do it with impunity and best of luck to them.
For me life without drink for me has had such rewards so keep on keeping on mate,
live the dream and all the best for the future.
PS I now remember the score and scorers the next day😁
