Can I respectfully make a suggestion. It’s just a load of footballl teams. No one said to all the women in the world “hey let’s play football this way”. Not having a go, I appreciate where you’re coming from, posted in peace. It’s just if you’re Lucy Bronze why should you be lumped in with someone who can’t pass because you’re both women
I will respectively reply by saying my point was that SOME (too many?) players seem to not be able to do the basics.
I most certainly do not “lump in” the likes of Lucy Bronze or players of her ilk, that definitely have the requisite skills and just as importantly, have the composure and the ‘smarts’ to play the right pass….even though Bronze has, perhaps, not been at her usual best so far.
Just as not all male players are the same standard, female players are different from each other.
My observations are (it appears to me) that, at the moment, the percentage of female players below standard on the basics are higher than in the men’s World Cup.

That is not to say that there are not PLENTY of male players on the biggest stages who are below par. (Probably shocking English, but hopefully you get my point)

Did people watch the Crowtree Chiefs or the Durham Wasps and moan about it not being the Detroit Redwings or the L.A. Kings, where's Gordie Howe, Wayne Gretzky would have scored that.

Enjoy it, or don't, for what is.
🤷
I do enjoy it. I wouldn’t watch the matches if I didn’t.
Just certain things frustrate me.
Not suggesting that players should have Wayne Gretzky standard skills, but I would hazard a guess that Durham Wasps fans would moan if Wasps players couldn’t do basic things.

Wasn't you i was getting at kidda, it's the lazy sniping of some.
Just watched the U19's final, nice to know the next gen of germans are shit at penalties.
😁

I’ve never thought sports bras were a thing, just marketing bullshit. The human race didn’t have sports bras when it was legging it away from lions on the Serengeti. Of course there are silly men who like to publicly ogle and giggle at jiggling tits and this makes women self conscious so when they’re told they need sports bras they buy them. May be wrong like, haven’t watched the video.

It's simple physics, as the video says, integrate [ F (dot) dx ] over 90+ minutes, it adds up to a lot of extra work for the upper torso that men don't have to do.

Also think sports bras are one of those massive areas of ignorance about female athletic performance. As I say, the human race got by very well without sports bras until 20 years ago and most young girls want them because they’ve become embarrassed about their tits jiggling because men do shitty men stuff. The Victorians were convinced women needed corsets because their spines were too weak to support them, which was obviously bollocks, gonna take a lot to get me past thinking sports bras are similar

Not convinced, sorry, that this isn’t just another thing to sell people stuff they don’t need.

This was worked through decades ago when I was in club athletics, our club was involved in research by the local university going on across Europe - if woman don't sports bras then once they get older they get wrecked much faster - its the same for bras for comfort generally IIRC. Yes thousands of years ago woman could run around without them (or boots), but the life expectancy was much lower and the desire to try to keep everything in the right place was probably far less prevalent. The extra extent to which these new compression ones are required in football for assisting turning etc I don't know.

As mentioned in the (serious) video, the point is that over the past decade they have gone better than the compression version, e.g., they cite that the design for Chloe Kelly goes beyond compression.
Back to Group H:
Powerpuff Girls take their foot off the pedal and are upset by Morocco
Germany vs Korea draw

Colombia 6 (better GD)
Morocco 6
--------------
Germany 4
Korea 1

Not saying this is the most likely outcome but it would mean both men and women crashing out at the group stage for Germany.

I’m afraid I’m going to have to respectfully disagree.

A year or so ago I went to the doctors with pain in my boobs and I was concerned enough to request a mammogram. Nothing was found thankfully but on discussion, I realised I’d been running again recently but without a supportive enough sports bra. I bought a different sports bra and it went away.

Now I’ve got bigger tits that Chloe Kelly, but I do need support when I run.

Excellent post.
If they watch the (serious) video, all these issues are addressed.

Japan v Spain will be a good game
Here’s hoping.

On paper it should be.

Based on Japan resting players, it looks like a Spanish win…..

*************************

Zambia 1-0 v Costa Rica early.
That’s Zambia’s first ever World Cup goal.

I get the feeling that Japan fancy their chances against Switzerland rather than Norway.
