Did that definitely happen though. Most spikings turn out to be a load of bollocks.

Bribe them with what? A bottle of cider?
Report I read today was that she was injected with a drug by an Albanian bloke and she passed out almost immediately.
That’s when Maguire kicked off. As would any of us if it was our sister.

They said today she was given a date rape drug they said yesterday she'd been stabbed and the story didn't even mention her the day before. So I'd take that with a pinch of salt.

He won't go to jail. He will pay a fine and give the country a wide birth nothing more
This.

She was stabbed with a sharp object and now it is date rape by 2 Albanian men. First it was rival fans singing 'Fuck Man Utd'.

Their taxi driver took them to a police station instead of a hospital and then the police attacked them. One of them said "your career is over Maguire." No wonder his lawyer wanted to delay the case.

Why? He's fucked up, made a mistake. Gets punished by the Greek authorities and his club.

Imagine if it was me and you. Why are footballers not seen as normal members of public. His charges are pretty bad like. Sounds like he's been a right wanker.

First it was 'sister stabbed in the arm' now ita 'date rape'. We will never know the truth.

Strange how it changed from being abused by supporters of another club that started the trouble, to Maguire's sister being injected with a potential date rape drug by Albanian gangsters.

Seems plausible, why spike someone's drink without their knowledge when you can just jab them with a hypodermic needle in the middle of a bar full of people

I thought that was business as usual in Greece?

Don't know mate. Never been to Greece :D

So he was wise and compos mentis
enough to know she was getting injected with a date rape drug but wasn't wise enough to raise this with the authorities instead his first thought was to try and slip them a couple of quid?

Key paragraph from the Guardian:

"Under Greece’s penal code, Maguire could face a three-year sentence but is likely to be spared as a result of a scheme that allows defendants to convert their sentences into “paid” penalties."

So basically he can just pay instead. Who says the rich don't get the same justice. Sure there's a shit overdone joke in there about Man U penalties also

Pretty sure this is common place in Europe.

I think a few very high profile players in Spain all got done for tax avoidance but simply paid a fine rather than went to jail.
