Electrifying the central train line and you may cut 10 minutes off the journey between Sheffield and London.
Well worth it.

they should make the internet faster by 0.0000001 seconds so eveeryone can hear each others vitrioloc views a bit faster.

A high-capacity "electric spine" running from Yorkshire and the West Midlands to south coast ports, boosting passenger and freight capacity

An £800m electrification and upgrade from Sheffield to Bedford, completing the full electrification of the Midland Main Line

Electrification extended from Cardiff to Swansea, costing £600m, plus electrification of the Welsh valley lines

The Northern Hub - a series of projects around Manchester worth £322m that improve northern rail capacity to get more and faster trains across the north of England

Upgrades to the East Coast Main Line from London to Leeds and Newcastle worth £240m to create faster journeys and increase capacity

Upgrades to stations and tracks creating capacity for an additional 140,000 daily rail commutes around cities at peak times, including £350m for lengthening platforms at London's Waterloo station

A new £500m rail link between the Great Western Main Line and Heathrow

It was on the news two minutes ago.....steam in sexy

That was it ... they are going to spend £9.4 billion to possibly shave 10 minutes off the journey time between Sheffield and London?

I'm close to puking at the wanton wastefulness of this austerity coalition cunthive.

You can't see that increasing the capacity of rail infrastructure is good for the economy in the long run?

This is exactly what the government should be doing more of to stimulate the economy.

Large scale infrastucture improvements will help the economy to recover. Cameron will then start a factory building a 'peoples car.' Ramp up the military and invade Poland.

Worth a try.

Yes, but it probably won't work as you suggest.

Isn't it supposed to be 'greener' or summit, it was on the radio this morning but I wasn't really listening.
