£45m on deeney and Keane

He wasn't shit, you're judging on perception again.

He played wide left for most of that season and got 5 goals, 9 assists. IIRC he was 5th in the assists stats column and only players like Ozil, Fabregas, Silva, etc were ahead of him
Seriously lad you're one deluded idiot. Did all these goals and assists come after the doping during the last 9 game run in ?

do you honestly think you cant make your team better for 30mill

I think £30m is excessive but Watford are resisting all bids as well and don't want to sell so there are at least two clubs who would rather have Deeney than £30m.

Deeney is a better player than people are giving him credit for, if he gets a dozen goals and 8 assists a season he's worth it.

I like Deeney, he's better than Okazaki for sure.

£30m seems ridiculous though.

We've bought brilliantly the last five years in the transfer market and I'll just have to trust Walsh knows exactly what he's doing.
Deeney is bang average. To buy him for 25mil when you's have a chance to really progress could balls things right up in one fowl swoop. See fletcher and graham for equivelent impact to a mid table side. The impact of signing expensive shite is colossal

You've been shown up all season sticking to your guns that Leicester are shite with shite plodder players, what do Leicester have to do to change your opinion?

There's none so blind than those who refuse to see.

but the fee is £30m so isn't sensible. All this based on a fee that won't be paid.

Worra knacker

Does the fee matter that much though, its not our money and as long as your club get a good player then who really cares.

Better than a chairman pocketing it.

Well only seven players contributed to more goals than him in the PL last season, he's Watford's best player, he's better than bang average.

I'm not saying 30m isn't excessive but that could be with lots of add ons like Leicester retaining the PL or getting to the Semi Final of the CL, we don't know but I doubt it's £30m in cash.

if sunderland paid 30mill for deeney you would think we were mental

 nobody has said the fee is sensible. But he would be a good signing for 20m.
That's the whole point of this thread you muppet..can't believe your still hanging about here

I think Leicester would need to keep performing at the level they have been for a few more years yet before anybody really gives them any credit...
Be honest, how many man city players would get in your first team if you could sign the ones you wanted..most in truth, same with arsenal,Chelsea and Tottenham...perception?? Most definitely.

I probably would but I take comfort in the fact that Watford don't want to sell even at this price and Steve Walsh hardly puts a foot wrong when scouting players for us.

If Walsh says he's worth that money then you have to take him seriously as the man has huge credibility.

everybody gets things wrong its slightly different as deeney is a known quantity in England than scouting abroad

Honestly, I could make a case for half our team getting in some of those sides.

Mahrez & Kante in every one.
Vardy in most of them.
Schmeichel, Fuchs, Morgan and Drinkwater in some of them.

Small club mentality for a team that's just won the league, it's actually embarrassing.
Why not break the Top 4 up by spending real money on real players...buy only proven quality from Championship clubs in the top leagues in Europe?

I hear what you are saying but you cannot deny, Troy Deeney is not worth £30m FFS. That is utter madness, its also madness for Watford to turn it down.

Would you be happy with Hull having £30m to spend on one player and spending it on Troy Deeney?

I'm normally not one bothered by fees and finances but this is utterly ridiculous.

Amazingly Deeney would become the third most expensive English player of all time.

Suddenly the £35m on Carroll doesn't seem ridiculous.
