£45m on deeney and Keane

Would be a mistake to change the formula that has given them so much success, I think Deeney and Vardy would be a great strike force, can totally see why they want him.
Dream PL strike force right there might as well hand them the 2016/17 trophy now

Well it's not like they have a track record of identifying players to fit their system regardless of what others think, and then enjoying spectacular success with an unfashionable bunch of players. ;)

I think the Deeney transfer makes a lot of sense for Leicester. He works like nobody's business, is better than Okazaki or Ulloa as support for Vardy, and he has the type of personality and determination that fit exactly what they're trying to continue.

Brilliant post and Deeney would be excellent for us, he works hard and covers defensively, intelligent player and good in the air and the only players who got a combined more goals and assists than him last season were:

Vardy
Mahrez
Kane
Aguero
Lukaku
Ozil
Giroud

If any of those players went for £30m no one would bat an eyelid. I'm not saying I'm happy about my club paying £30m but I trust Walsh to get it right if nothing else.

there a lot better than him he didn't even score 10in open play 30mill is stupid and you can do better

I've been on the Burnley forum yesterday when the price was touted as £10m and to a man they didn't want to sell him for that kind of money as they thought he'll go on and play for England so I trust the fans of a team that watch him week in week out.

Yeah he's very good. He'll have a good career. Not sure why people are being snobby about him he's a steal at 10 mill or whatever it is.

If it's because he plays for Burnley then Gary Cahill was bottom of the league with Bolton before signing for Chelsea.

just goes to show the affect the new, TV money is having on the price of players wouldn't surprise me if we break our transfer record a few times this summer
Yep, its still about £13m isn't it ? that will go a couple of times in the summer I reckon. Still Deeney and Keane for £45m is absolutely ridiculous, far better value elsewhere.

Maybe you should broaden your mind a bit, you know very little about these players but your opinion is absolute because of your perception of them.

You said Cattermole should play for England and Vardy is bang average, you have form for calling it wrong.
I said could play for England, not should. I also stand by my rating of Vardy.

I can broaden my mind all you like it won't stretch to Troy Deeney being worth £30m. If it weren't Leicester buying himI'm pretty sure you'd find it ludicrous as well.

Because everyone of them are better than Troy Deeney!

How many times this dickhead mentioned Steve Walsh on the thread now ? Reminds me of the mags with a certain wonder scout

Given that Vardy has a clause for £20m you would ;) With the exception of the first two they have all got proven records over a number of years in the premiership and / or abroad and in international games. And to be honest I'd be surprised if Mahrez went for £30m although I'd understand it more than Deeney due to the age difference.

I've not been impressed by the little I've seen of Keane and Deeney did well last year but most of his goals were penalties, he has no premiership pedigree and his quite a long way into his career. He's basically a younger Rickie Lambert after his first season in the Premiership. They could both be good signings for you but you'd have to think you can get better for £30m especially as you yourself have said you built a team for £22m. Just carry on with that policy. I also wouldn't read anything into Burnley and Watford fans saying they wouldn't sell at these prices - that's because they know they'd have to pay something similar on a gamble to replace a known quantity.

£30m seems excessive I agree but how many people here are judging Deeney on perception? How many have closely watched him play more than an odd game?

People on here a year a go told me that Mahrez and Vardy are no better than Buckley and Graham and that Kante is shite and just barges into people.

People will tell me Schmeichel & Morgan are crap when they were absolutely brilliant last season and arguably the best players in their position in the PL last season. People are too quick to judge when they don't have a qualified opinion.

The price is terrible I agree but who can Leicester realistically attract who is better and would fit their style?

The championship ? Rather have PL experience

He's got premier league experience. Burnley weren't that bad defensively they just weren't good enough in total. Just because they went down it shouldn't have reflect badly on him.

Gary Cahill left Bolton who were bottom and going down, went to Chelsea and won the UCL same season. 10 mill is good business and it's not even a gamble.

Of course. I am not discrediting him. Just find it mad that he is 10m and feel we undervalue our own players
