It's not, they should continue with their policy of buying young players and players with good character and work ethic who fit into their side's style of play. Buying a lazy big name player like Benteke for example wouldn't work for Leicester.
Can they not buy good big name players who aren't lazy?

Probably not, if the likes of Gotze or Griezmann became available then Leicester would be towards the back of the queue.

We have recent history though of buying fantastic players for peanuts, Steve Walsh has arguably been the best scout in the world the last five years.

I could make a credible case why the likes of Deeney and Keane are decent buys although I'm dubious myself at this stage.
The bloke from Sevilla is the best scout in the world. Just look at his record.

£10m for a Championship defender is beyond ridiculous! We got Kone and Kaboul for £8m. As for £30m for Deeney! One good season and his worth the same as Diego Costa?

The Sevilla scout is up there but so is Steve Walsh, we've just won the title with a team that cost £22m.

It's easy to ridicule players like Deeney and Keane but the truth is probably no one on here has an educated opinion on them, they just see a couple of plodders from smallish clubs. The one thing I will say in their favour is the fans of these two players clubs don't want them sold even at these prices.

Good point. They should spend hideous amounts on very average players like Deeney.

Id be f***ing gutted if Sunderland were ever in a position to spend £30m on a player and we spunked it on Troy Deeney

It's beyond absurd, utterly ridiculous

I never said they should spend that much on Deeney, they should look at other targets.

Maybe you should broaden your mind a bit, you know very little about these players but your opinion is absolute because of your perception of them.

You said Cattermole should play for England and Vardy is bang average, you have form for calling it wrong.

Neither are anywhere near champions league quality or top 4 quality, Leicester have just won the league, they could by nearly anyone and yet they're bidding 45million on deeney and Keane. Small time IMO.

The championship ? Rather have PL experience

They've already got Huth and Morgan for that, Hernandez and Keane would be back up for now and then take over when the other two are past it I assume.

Well it's not like they have a track record of identifying players to fit their system regardless of what others think, and then enjoying spectacular success with an unfashionable bunch of players. ;)

I think the Deeney transfer makes a lot of sense for Leicester. He works like nobody's business, is better than Okazaki or Ulloa as support for Vardy, and he has the type of personality and determination that fit exactly what they're trying to continue.

Fuck off man

Would be a mistake to change the formula that has given them so much success, I think Deeney and Vardy would be a great strike force, can totally see why they want him.
