£30 for ticket

You're going to watch what is on the pitch though in reality

The ground, food etc is secondary

I agree, but it's still nice to be in a better environment than a leaky shed
Call your self a supporter? Not interested in going unless it's a freebie? 'Fans' like you stagger me!. We should have separate message boards, one for those who attend games and one for those that don't

As someone who doesn't get to as many games as I'd like (I live in the North West), I can safely say that idea is absolute bollocks

It translated into 40k plus crowds. The highest continuous average crowds in our history. And even then, the prices were too expensive. That’s a football issue not a Sunderland issue.

£30 at league one level is obscene and particularly in the Sunderland and coalfields area. £20-25 (max) would be fair. That keeps it above ST prices for the uberites who want to see others who can’t afford STs pay more than they do.
i agree, prices should be lower

Someone who's actually put up the money and isn't griping about the cost

Where do you draw the line though?
when prices were £24 a ticket in the premier league, people couldn't afford it, when we introduced £19 season cards for kids it was abused with hundreds of 50 year old under 16's

prices will always price people out, in the 12 years i've had a season card the average price has went up £40 and most of that was for this season, we've been better than most in terms of attracting fans with lower prices and it simply hasn't worked.

Shouldn’t be the case in a half full stadium.
Our season card prices are not bad but the on the day ones need to be a bit lower imo.
Ideally all should be cheaper to increase the base support for the future.
I would be interested to see the age profile of our season card holders, I imagine that the median is fairly high and I wonder if the base support number will drop as us oldies do.

Justifiable because afew others charge it iirc.

Makes me laugh when people come on here and defend the prices. We should want as many Sunderland fans in as possible with as few priced out as possible whilst the tickets prices stay within reason

this

30,000 at a tenner a ticket gives exactly the same revenue as 10,000 at thirty quid a ticket.

not suggesting the charge a tenner but just illustrating the point

But it’ll cost more to have 30,000 in that it would to have 10,000 in. More staff, higher policing costs etc. So less profit.

The cheapest ticket for an adult is £26. That's only £1 over your range of a fair price.

Ultimately the team need to play well and win, if we are going watching exciting winning football regularly then the price will matter less and we'll get more people willing to buy a season card.

We might have been better off building a 30,000 seater stadium where you weren't always guaranteed a ticket imo.

I think we could have and should have kept it at 42000. Only a period of sustained relative success would see us filling 48k week in week out
You said up to £25 is a fair price. I was just stating the ticket prices are £26. Only £1 over what you would class as fair. Not that much is it £1.

Well it’s £1 more for the cheapest available ticket when I think the cheapest should be no more than £20. So £6 which is quite a difference for some people

Shocking prices like, go as a family and you’re looking at £100 just for tickets, I can see midweek games easily under 20k
I must say way back in the late 80’s early 90’s when I started taking my two lads it didn’t seem like I was pulling out a lot to get to the match, nowadays I’m not sure I would be able to take them to as many games, it’s all irrelevant like cos they’re old enough to pay their own way now.
