£30 for ticket

And who are you to tell him that like?
Someone who's actually put up the money and isn't griping about the cost
Does your snobbishness apply to a family on a low income who can't afford it?
Where do you draw the line though?
when prices were £24 a ticket in the premier league, people couldn't afford it, when we introduced £19 season cards for kids it was abused with hundreds of 50 year old under 16's

prices will always price people out, in the 12 years i've had a season card the average price has went up £40 and most of that was for this season, we've been better than most in terms of attracting fans with lower prices and it simply hasn't worked.

I’m justifying them in the context of English football. As much as the price structure in Germany is more affordable there it pointless comparing. It’s about £15 a match in the national league.

It's pointless comparing them to clubs in the same league as Sunderland have a lot more seats to fill, therefore can afford to be more reasonably priced.

AFC Wimbledon at £30 a game, full capacity = £279,000
Sunderland at £10 a game full capacity = £490,000

Simplistic way of looking at it, but it shows the potential the club have to boost numbers by being more reasonable. Teams like Wimbledon have to charge more for their seats because there's a hell of a lot less of them.

It's okay for those of us that can afford it, but a lot of families are being priced out. It's also worth pointing out that the average wage in Sunderland is lower than the national average.

People justifying the prices man  £30 to watch Sunderland or any League One team is ridiculous, ticket prices in England are ridiculous in general.

You can get an RB Leipzip ticket for £13 ffs.
RB Leipzig are a bit different to us mind. PL clubs should be cheaper as they bring in £100m from the TV deal alone, bit different at our level. And as mentioned, £30 isn't the lowest available ticket.

Germany seems a much more civilised place and they know if they abuse the working man he's likely to get to get up and kick you in the balls. British working man just basically takes slaps around the head time after time because he knows that if he gets to much his own kind will turn on him and if he gets to uppity the rich man will set the police on him. Very unfair comparison Germany and over here.

Does that give you the right to tell everyone else who might find it harder to pay to fuck off and don’t come back does it Loadsamoney?
Football isnt a priority, it certainly wasnt when i couldn't keep a roof over my head, the whole pricing structure from the club was to drive season card sales and it has, why would they price matchday tickets under the cost of season card when its meant to be the value proposition.

Exactly
Call your self a supporter? Not interested in going unless it's a freebie? 'Fans' like you stagger me!. We should have separate message boards, one for those who attend games and one for those that don't

Our tickets are cheaper than AFC Wimbledon’s though. That’s the point I’m making. We aren’t the most expensive in the league, we’re priced competitively. The club isn’t a charity unfortunately. Some people are just looking for things to bash the club with. Are ticket prices in England high in general? Yes. Are ours priced disgracefully in the context of our league? Not at all.

I get what you're saying, it's more a sense of survival down at this level but We had the lowest priced matchday tickets for most of our stint in the PL and it rarely translated to full houses.

We got spoilt watching the match on the telly for a tenner last season.

It translated into 40k plus crowds. The highest continuous average crowds in our history. And even then, the prices were too expensive. That’s a football issue not a Sunderland issue.

£30 at league one level is obscene and particularly in the Sunderland and coalfields area. £20-25 (max) would be fair. That keeps it above ST prices for the uberites who want to see others who can’t afford STs pay more than they do.
