Aye... nee one's making much on his sell on clause after a 20m transfer... so I have my doubts (other than some transfer shenanigans but shenanigans seem to be a big part of transfers now!).Presumably a profit percentage?

Can see them buying Simms
So you're saying the deal could mean Sporting could sell him for 30m... and make a loss (after fees etc..) with Coventry making another huge profit?
Don't think it would work that way.
He’s definitely not good enough to keep four defenders busy. He is good, just not that good.20 odd goals and 12 assists suggests he is like.
Blackburn couldn’t get any takers at £15m for Brereton Diaz despite him being two years younger than VG is now. Even getting that fee would be hugely impressive. Add in the sell on and it’s a dream deal. Miles above what Lisbon normally spend too. Makes me think this is just paper talk tbh. It’ll be miles off- the 20m euros I can see but 35% sell on would mean they’d need to sell for a vast fee to even get money back- it’s an Everton site exaggerating the deal to soften the blow of missing out.

I don't think it'll be too many years 'til we see the Saudi's bid £1bn for Mbappe.Remember about 10 years ago when people were thinking the football world was going mental because Van Persie went for £20m and only had a year left on his contract and it was a crazy amount for someone with one year left.
Now a Championship footballer going for £15m with one year left is seen as a bargain![]()
Aye it’s profit percentage not salewell no, if they sold him for 30m they'd still make a profit albeit it not very much.
it may also be a 35% of any profit they make, which would still net coventry around 5m if he moved again for 30m

Still be a decent chunk of cash (assuming they make a profit) very good deal for Coventry on paper.Aye it’s profit percentage not sale
He f***ing did against Millwall like - was piss funny.the brereton diaz example will be on a lot of clubs minds..he didnt overly stretch himself when his contract was widing down so they didnt go up..
