A NEW vision for the heart of Sunderland will be revealed today.

Siglion, the company spearheading a £100million-plus transformation of the city, will be outlining its plans to an invited audience at its official launch.

The company – a joint venture between construction giant Carillion and Sunderland City Council, with support from regeneration specialist Igloo – will unveil the first stages of its vision to more than 100 representatives from local businesses and the public sector, at the National Glass Centre.

Siglion is responsible for the regeneration of several sites across the city, including the former Vaux brewery.

An announcement just in time for the election and the day after ukip get some publicity in the city.

What a coincidence.

I think people are not understanding what is happening. We have paid a company to develop the city. This was signed some months ago.

Same shit from sunderland council just forty years on from the first lot of shit we keep getting fed by these councillors. Will state on record now thatvsome Councillors will end up, in some capacity, on the board of this Siglion consortium. Jobs and all that comes with it for the boys

But announced the day ater UKIP get some publicity in the city and just in time for the election. It'll never happen and will die a death once the election is over.

Siglion have a lot to gain with this, its not the council now and things win happen.

Igloo are well regarded in the industry as well. I was speaking to the urban design team at Newcastle City Council and The Ouseburn Trust a few weeks ago who didn't really have a bad word to say about them. Sounds promising.
