If it's a short-term loan deal to cover Wickham (who needs as many games as possible) then it's a decent deal.

If it's a £1.5m transfer with decent wages being paid on an 18 month deal then O'Neill needs his head examining.

so if he came and scored 10 goals in 15 games. Martin O'neil would need his head examining?

Let's just see what happens, eh? (For the record I don't believe Kevin Davies is capable of getting 10 in 15)

By the confidence Newcastle fans are showing.......... should be at least 15 points(like it was before O'Neill was appointed) over us at end of season.

Surely you agree considering you've splashed out £10m on a striker since then and we've spend nothing.

It would be the biggest turnaround ever seen in North East history if we overhaul a 15 point gap.

So what's the question then?

Have you had a drink?

No.

I want you too commit to a question.

Will Newcastle finish above Sunderland this season?

It's not a difficult question.

Anytime your ready Midds lad.

Probably. Can't be certain obviously but 9 points is a lot to make up in 16 games.

You're right, it wasn't difficult.

I admire your confidence with practically half of the season to go......

Got to love Newcastle fans.

Way I look at it - we win one you draw: down to 7 points
We win you lose - down to 4 points
We beat you at SDA - 1 point
your arse goes on last day of season when you're 3-0 up at half time and you draw 3-3 with some random scoring a hattrick..like Darren Gibson
...bingo!

I'm right here so you can bookmark this

Davies has never been the kind of forward who profits from balls from the wings played between the back four and the keeper because he does not have the movement or pace to get in those positions. He is a static target man to whom long balls are aimed in the hope that he can bring people into the game higher up the pitch. It would be a backward step to more attritional football even in the short term. No thanks.

But what if he scores 10 in 15 games though? Would it still be a backward step?
