They'll not sell for that I wouldn't have thought. If they are willing, good price for an ageing player who would give us what we need in the short term.

A journo, @iandovaston (sp?), says £250,000 with another £250,000 after so many appearances.

They will, he aint getting a game contract is running down and they removed there offer of a new one.

I suppose it will be whether he'd come here and how long a contract he wants/we're willing to offer then.

0.5 million would be a fair price.

Surely there are better options.....

f***ing hell man he is shite now man! Haway people we are better than that!

Are you joking??? This would make us the laughing stock of the Premier League.
I'm out Duncan!

Overreaction alert

He only became a full international a year ago, will be a useful short term signing and may play an important role for a year or two. Niall Quinn was still playing an important role for Sunderland as a similar player at 34 (albeit he was more naturally gifted)

Yes, but Niall Quinn was still a good player at 34. Only positive for me is he'd be another body up-front. Wouldn't want to see him staying beyond the end of the season.

At his age and based on this season's form that's all he's worth......and he's probably going to want a 2 year deal.

IF O'Neill however sees something else in the deal....ie a role model for Wickham and a potential coaching role (Davies always comes across as quite intelligent in interviews) then it's a good deal.

There's no doubt in my mind that O'Neill will rejuvenate him short term and he will be an asset this season.

And oh how we laughed when them jokers up the road bought Shefki ! (Think positive thoughts, think positive thoughts....) In Martin we trust
