If anyone can be arsed we can keep a tally of how much this latest f*ck up is going to cost the UK taxpayer.

With a price tag of up to almost £1m for some missiles, British military action on IS fighters in Iraq will not come cheap.

So far:

Tornado x4 return flight from Cyprus to Syria @ 3 hours total aviation fuel.
Each Tornado carried x3 Paveway missiles = 12 @ £30,000
Aircrew salary = ???
Ground crew, logistics etc. = ???

Does this count too?:

The MoD said 93 Brimstone missiles - each costing more than £100,000 - were fired in the year to September in military operations in Iraq.

And is it worth it?

Any accountants on here?

Haven't we only got 3 planes left after the latest forces cutbacks anyway? So it won't cost us any more as the 3 planes currently bombing Iraq will just be re-assigned to bomb Syria.

Thus saving London from any threats if what the MPs are saying is true, and MPs never tell fibs.

Approximately £500,000 per plane on each mission according to sky / MOD figures. That presumes they use their full payload on each mission, which they won't.

Based on that we spent £4,000,000 last night, the equivalent of the salary of 130 SIS Intelligence Officers for a year or 72 Junior Doctors.

I thought we were skint?
The government will get a provie order from their mates in the major banks and you'll pay the installments off, just like every generation has for every other war that's been fought, income tax was introduced to fund the Napoleonic war and it's still with us, the whole shebang is one big cash cow for the super rich and we just keep on sucking it up and paying out. dumb twats that we are.
