Do people still use a greengrocer?

Good. Only issue I would have around Newcastle is there’s no really good meat suppliers. All the market stuff is pretty crap apart from the likes of the Spanish Deli and the specialists. The butchers are shite. Can’t fault the fish mongers.

Have to do a trip out to knitsley every once in a while for me meat.
block & bottle?

naw, but I do only buy fresh meat from a butchers, quality is way better

and his bacon is topper..not pumped with water

Never seem to be able to just get what I want in there. Normal everyday meat if you get me. It’s normally rare breed stuff and expensive.
Try George Payne in Brunton Park or that lass butcher in Ashburton Gossy
I meant in the city centre. I live right in town so be nice if I could get a normal family butcher. There’s the one in fenwicks and other places but I can’t find just a normal family butcher with decent quality stuff in the town

Bought bacon past few weeks from the market as I reckon it’s a good barometer for quality. Both butchers I bought it from water seeped out in large quantities. If the bacon does that I don’t want anything else off them.

Porterhouse in Fenwicks does the best bacon.

Brother in law as an allotment which is bang on for Summer months Got a massive Rhubarb bulb and the produces loads and freezes great Get the rest from Aldi. Home grown outdoor Indica saves me loads too 4 Trans siberian strains 😉 sorts me out for 12 months in kilner jars ... so i dont feed the dealers or associated crime.

I would if I had any confidence in the quality of the produce they were selling.

But everything is just "how f***ing cheap can we buy total shit, so that we can sell it cheaply to scratters"
