by 2020 he'd have had two seasons to bed in to F1 (plus junior formulee - would be more than Max > Red Bull)... plus Merc have had him in the full works car during testing this season... Damon Hill made it from test driver to the plum seat in 1993 after a few races for Brabham and load of testing miles...

RK saying he still wants a drive for next year but where? Maybe he is holding out and crossing his fingers that Vettel retires and that triggers Danny Ric's clause to allow him to go to Ferrari and he picks that seat up.

talk of him going to the DTM for Audi - apparently they've had advanced talks. not sure why by making the announcement it free's him to evaluate his options though, didnt think williams had an option on him for next season anyhoo.

can't see him in F1 again sadly.

Agreed. But say Danny R does go to Ferrari next season because Vettel has had enough, what do Renault do, keep Nico on?

if you'd asked that question a few weeks back, the answer would have been easy - anthoine hubert... tragically that aint gonna happen & the renault sport academy looks a bit light in the upper category's...

it might be that they could get latifi out of whatever options williams have over him? being Canadian he's kinda french...

What a final lap from Leclerc and Hamilton.

Bottas almost a second down, Vettel cocked it up. Fantastic qualifying session.
