Bury to be deducted 12 points?

I think their should be a 0.25% surcharge on all transfers with the money going to a special fund for clubs in real crisis and can only be given out when clubs have met certain parameters....

League One is effectively a 22 team competition from the start as there are two teams starting on -12 that pretty much already cannot win it. Its also a huge buffer to teams that might struggle given that 4 go down. Bolton and Bury will probably need to hit 60 points over the season (48 resultant) just to stay up and I reckon neither will manage that many, so thats half the relegation places sorted before a ball is kicked in anger.

What annoy's me is it never seems to apply to the teams at the other end. Chelsea can break FFP rules and get a transfer embargo. They have one of the best teams in the world and can ride that out.

Be interesting to see what happens if this Newcastle tax evasion thing every pans out. Rangers were effectively dissolved and reformed and stated in the Scottish 4th tier, which to my mind was still far too high up the pyramid for a brand new club.

Plymouth went down in the 4th relegation spot last season with 50 points so Bolton and Bury would actually need 62 points to match that. Wimbledon and Southend also had 50 but stayed up, so that appears to be the benchmark.

To put that into perspective, Blackpool finished 10th out of 24 with 62 points. Effectively, Bury and Bolton need to have a top ten season in a league of 24 teams to stay up.
It'll never happen to a prem club, the fa don't have the balls to do it.

If they survive (as in still exist) then promotion was huge for them, otherwise they'd have been 1 year from non-league football. They've also lost their manager to Plymouth as well as most of their best players.

Another club, like ours, who've spent more than they could afford, only without parachute payments as a safety net.

Coventry havent. Don't have their own stadium but that's okay according to the football league, shambles.
lots of clubs dot have their own stadium...

Bolton will start on at least -12. However, they're still to be punished for failing to fulfil their last game of last season. The best guess is that they'll start on -20, assuming they still exist. Their exit from administration has run into problems as the preferred buyers haven't produced the necessary cash. They have very few players, who have just gone on strike again, and the administrators aren't selling season tickets as they can't be sure the sure the club will be able to honour them.
one of the problems at bolton is the prospective ownwrs wanted to buy the hotel a well and borrow against it to fund the football side..
but the hotel company has different administrators-and those administrators have had a lot of interest from people who just want the hotel..so arent keen to se;; quickly..
this means the finace isnt here for the prospective new owners..

Leeds started on -15 and finished 5th so bury have every chance...

Looking very ominous for Bury

Bury: EFL warns club could be expelled if financial assurances are not provided

If they do get thrown out I guess that’ll mean 2 less games in new season

Hope Bury managed to get sorted out. Unfortunately relegation seems inevitable but hopefully Bury can regroup and recover.

On another note the EFL should have expelled coventry, the sky blue filth were supposed to play within 6 miles of the city next season. Twice they called off EGM's to vote on it. Spineless tossers.

Have you been to Bury? Both Bolton and Bury are miles behind Sunderland in probably most areas. The only similarity at all is they’ve been run appallingly.

Meanwhile man city Liverpool spurs man u arsenal and even the mags are hoying 30 40 50 75 mln pounds about like it's confetti

They should be getting helped out to an extent, by the powers that be.

But the powers that be are too busy wanking over the money they make from Liverpool and spurs and all playing stupid friendlies in farflung places

Why should the powers that be support and fund clubs who have been mismanaged?
