Striker
Is he a little wasted playing at right back? Involved in a lot of good things last night, gets forward a lot, could have won the game playing where you would imagine a forward would have been.

I think Ross is struggling to work out what his best midfield is. We have Honeyman, Leadbitter, Power, McGeouch, Cattermole all battling for two spots in the team. We have several attacking options now that Ross needs to get right with Morgan, Gooch, Watmore, Maguire, McGeady and whether Wyke and Grigg start. Is this the problem? We haven’t had same line up for weeks due to injuries or changes and the manager doesn’t know himself who to pick?

He always uses the ball well and gets in great positions. It looks obvious to me.

Give him ten games up there and I think we will see a big change in how we play.

His best position is probably behind the striker. However, Maguire has cemented that spot now. I'm happy for him to continue at right back for now.

You would hope so. Maguire made a difference second half for sure but his form will dip. Bit of confidence through the team and he will flourish.

He's playing great there so no he's not wasted. Even in the OP you state

I like him as a wing back. He's better when he can move forward more and irritate the opposition.

Love his energy and enthusiasm. You could probably put him on all by himself and he'd have a decent go at winning the match

He's not very good at right back. Sorry. His attitude & endeavour goes along way but he shouldn't be ahead of Matthews and he should be further forwards.

Even if he's used as a super sub, not a bad role for him.

I don't think he's a good fit at right back. He's one footed and can't keep the ball moving forward when he's pressed. Often played into dead ends.

Good player though.

Start of season I wasn't too sure on Onien. Everything too rushed and erratic. He's come on loads imo and now quite composed on the ball, picks the right pass and turned into one of our best players. He definitely deserves a chance in midfield, but that would mean dropping Honeyman. No brainer for me, but can't see it bar injury or fatigue after coming back from injury.

In no way shape or form is he a right back and it is madness playing him there to play an inferior midfielder in his rightful position.

Gooch has been pitiful for weeks.
