Huel

.
3 scoops for lunch just now. With about 5 teaspoons of organic, raw cacao powder and 4 extra strong mints for that "After Eight" flavour.

Seems like too much cacao, but didn't taste too strong. 3 certainly wasn't enough. Not too arsed about the extra calories, as that stuff seems to be a "superfood" if there is such a thing.

Really does taste loads better blended the night before - no grittiness like before. Might try Cacao and vanilla tomorrow.

.
Nailed this today.
3 scoops Huel UU
4 heaped tsp Cacao powder
2 heaped tsp honey
one bannan
made with semi skimmed milk.
Blended then left in the fridge overnight

Its actually nice. Not amazing, but its perfectly ok.
Probably an extra 300 calories on top of the base stuff, but that's fine by me. Its a healthy meal that I don't hate.

Looking good. Let’s hope that there isn’t a shortage of diminutive Scottish midfielders after Brexit.

How's the journey @PTR
Been so busy these last two weeks I've hardly had any.

How's the journey @PTR
Ok, you guilted me into it. Cheers :)

Just made a large batch of steel cut oats in the instant pot. Half milk, half water, with a fairly large chunk of mixed dried fruits and a banana

And tomorrow's lunch will be chocolate and berry Huel. With Almond milk, of all f***ing things!

Keep making the same mistakes with Huel

1 - I know that, at the recommended mixture, its too thick for me. But I keep measuring everything exactly, and having the same problem.
Next time, 3 scoops, not 3 x 38g. Just a little less will make a big difference I think

(Yes, I could add more liquid, but then it wouldn't fit into the shaker-cup thingy they supplied)

2 - Cacao powder is a bit of a head fuck. I constantly forget just how bitter it is, and how much sugar it takes to make it drinkable.
Just make some hot chocolate with it. And literally, its a spoon of sugar for every spoon on cacoa powder. Any less and its rank. I even think full fat milk would be loads better.....

I can't believe how "good" cacoa is though. 35% fibre and 27% protein. Its the superfood of all superfoods!

Once I nail chocolate Huel, I need to try some others. Strawberry is my choice of milkshake, so I should really have started there. I must try some in curry too. I might make a madras and just start adding the stuff, you never know.......

And no, the one I had on Monday didn't have me shitting and farting all day. It was rank though, and I did feel a bit sick for about an hour afterwards.

It doesn’t sound like a particular healthy diet to follow and with such a fuck on to make could you not just prepare a nutritious healthy diet of your own which would be more sustainable and better for you in the long run ?

So today I joined the club. I have a couple of friends trying Huel, and I've been curious for some time.

I plan to have it for work lunches, as I train most lunchtimes and then simply shovel down my food. Therefore the time saving convenience aspect is a big factor. I bought two bags to start with, Original and berries. I had my first an hour or so ago, of which I started with 3 scoops of the original flavour Huel, mixed with 1.5 scoops of chocolate protein powder. (I use Star Nutrition Chocolate Whey-80). I mixed that with only water, and I found it actually completely fine in terms of taste. It wasn't exactly tantalising but very drinkable, I've had worse protein shakes.

Happy to contribute to this thread with my findings. Not looking forward to the upset stomachs everyone warns me about.

I'm finding three scoops - not compressed, so slightly less than what's supposed to be in it - with milk, makes a nice consistency. If I put the full amount in, its a bit thick for my liking.
3 tablespoons of cacao powder and 2 of sugar makes a really nice chocolate milkshake tasting drink-meal.

As I said, I'm not doing it for the calories. And anyway, Cacao powder is amazing stuff. Don't mind a bit sugar in it, beats sweeteners

I tried it for a while, I had the coffee and the vanilla one..

I did 3 scoops and alternated ( 2 x coffee and 1 x vanilla scoop) then the reverse the next day

I used coconut water instead of milk or water (picked the massive bottles up from home bargains) wa actually really nice, especially blended in the nutribullet.. made it the night before to let it chill. Had it in the fridge all day for work..

Only really stopped because I genuinely missed real food... apart from that though, did feel ok and felt like I was getting my nutrients and eating less shite

Funny, I had half coconut milk the other day, and it was the best one I've ever had

Never got round to trying it with coconut milk, never really liked it with normal milk or water, so coconut water was a good compromise and it worked a treat, blended well too..

It definitely a trial and error thing

I'm now into my third week and having no problems. Only having it for work lunches but it's keeping me well fed and had no stomach issues.

I finished the bag of protein powder which I was mixing with on Friday and bought a different brand / flavour at the weekend so this will be my first variation so we'll see if anything changes.
