But keeping things ticking over isn't always what's required. He's been decent overall but he's one of the most guilty for slowing things down when the opposite is needed. It's one of our worst traits as a team.

But too often he doesn't play it forward at the right time. I've said it before but he'll be better for us in games we're not expecting to win and are happy to keep the ball. In games where we need to be on the front foot and taking it to the opposition, he's not ideal at the moment.

09 was tremendous.
Where does he get the energy from ?
Matthews superb too.
 
He's definitely been inconsistent for us this season and seems to want to play it safe quite a lot of the time. Think he needs to trust his own ability a bit more, that ball he played tonight to Matthews which led to the goal was brilliant.

I think that is a fair point about what games he should play
 
I saw glimpses of a good player in him there in the 1st half.

Needs to do more for me in impacting league games than he does for my current low opinion of him to change, but I’ll be delighted if he does.

I read on here that it’s only here where supporters are reactionary goons and that it isn’t representative of people who go to games

Aren't games where you expect to win games where you have more of the ball?

More of the ball in dangerous areas. As I say, you don't win a game passing in front of two banks of four. There's a time and place for it, and we need to be wiser in this area. Too often we let the opposition regroup and set themselves whilst we knock ten and twenty yard cross-field passes.
 
Always hated that. Yeah people get frustrated but can't imagine anything more confidence f***ing than a cheer because you didn't fall over.
