Talksport 2 Coverage

I will not listen to anything with Gough present. The bloke is a thick twat. Why do media companies assume that cos someone has been a decent player they'll make a decent pundit/presenter.

Swann's not thick he's just a bellend, I avoid Tms when he's on as well.

Aye not been half as bad as I expected. Although I do have the sanctity of telly when I'm in the house so only listen when I'm in the van.

Have to admit too that I’m really enjoying listening to Gareth Batty .

Credit where it’s due, he’s really insightful and has left me pleasantly surprised.

Hope some of the lads on there such as Butch, Kimber and Batty can get a gig with TMS. Each one of them are a million times better than Rainford-c*nt, Mitchell and Guha........

Sky are the worst culprits for this like - especially with their football coverage. Case in point - Jamie ‘literally’ Redknapp.

Agree, Sky cricket having Harbhajan Singh on in the summer. f***ing hell man.

We'll have to agree to disagree about Alison Mitchell, I enjoy listening to her.

Heard an interview with Alan Wilkin recently where he was saying the same thing. After he finished playing he did his media training with BBC radio Wales or something, and spent years learning the craft reporting on all sorts of stuff. The likes of Flintoff, Gough, Danny f***ing Morrison, Pietersen etc walk straight into a studio and have no idea how to describe or explain themselves in anything other than hyperbole. Richie Benaud must be turning in his grave.

Batty's interview with Moeen about spin bowling that was broadcast between innings today was excellent. Well worth seeking out.

How do you find Talksport 2?

Listened on my tablet for the last game but now coming up with Adobe Flash shenanigans.

For future reference, do a channel scan and it should appear in your station listings.

Harbajaan is growing on me. The worst foreign commentator has to be Ramiz Raja. What a prick. Can't even talk properly. Problem is jobs for the boys is keep on picking him every time Pakistan play. Like there isn't anyone else from Pakistan who can speak English.

Very much a 'had to be there' story but when I was at uni we had a broadcast seminar where the lecturer showed a load of clips of Jamie Redknapp as a 'how not to do it' guide...'he's literally turned him inside out there' has he really Jamie? Impressive stuff that! (Should have also taught my how to quote properly on the SMB)

Love Ramiz me, vividly remember him pro-ing at South Moor when I was a kid, serious player and cracking bloke. His brother was different gravy mind you.

Don't get me wrong mate. Quality bat and probably a good bloke. He just irritates me to fuck when I hear him commentate. Proper tries too hard

Totally agree. Can’t stand him on commentary, and another one who is rapidly getting on my nerves is Ian Ward, I used to like him but I’m finding myself now wishing he would just shut up. He talks far too much, I’m sure he never used to and I can only put it down to him trying too hard.
