Oh I wouldn't go anywhere near a 'Goid with it - but it's good fun to throw around in RES sites for an hour or so when I get the chance
Once you've gone black you never go back.

I've now engineered everything on it to the new G5 level and took it for a spin in a HazRES. The shields and hull hold up really well against NPCs. I've even taken the Shield Cell Bank out of it because I didn't use it even once.

I took on every ship type up to Python and came away without a scratch. I'm still underwhelmed with the firepower though. It was taking far too long to take down things like FASs and FGSs.

@Giddup Sausage! You might want to trade in your Vulture for this.

I was thinking of getting one but was told it was between a lower ship and the Python so stuck with the Python. Love the Python but it's turning circle is like a bus so the little nippy craft are a pain in the arse to catch. Was going to buy another (or an Anaconda) and go pirating (but sounds like for all the hassle and shit the money you make is absolute balls. I can make just as much running poxy data missions I think with fuck all risk and 5 mins between stations).

Had a blast at the Miai AHM pirates last night (for about 10 mins.. took me about 15 minutes to fly to Miaia 5 to see what res sites it had) and whilst I saw a few (4 all grouped up) there was allsorts of pirates kicking about in there and before I could wait for it to all kick off I had to log off. Looks like it will take a lot longer without the cops to come and bail me out. Might have to go into a low one and shoot shit for the missions to clear them bypassing the bigger bounties. Dunno why but ships still seem to kick the shit out of me, maybe need to engineer my shields a bit.

The new "lawless" system also makes it hard to notice what is a pirate and what are miners without scanning. Guess it doesn't matter what the fuck I shoot now (and don't I need to shoot miners and such for parts? Absolutely stupid system making people do that (or trade parts...)).

Logged on last night to do some Miai pirates but it was just too slow without the cops zipping about. Just seemed to spawn a few pirates (not many were AHM) who flew about each other a bit scanning then all kicked the shit out of any miners they found in groups.

Tried to reset the instance by going into the online mode but same thing. Then just as I was about to turn it off, sitting watching a group of pirates ramming each other (wtf) trying to think of something fun to do on it so I could play it, my shields get wiped out (think rail guns or some shit). wtf. Some little prick decided to kill me for fuck all. I had zilch on me and was stationary doing fuck all for ages whilst I looked about the map for something to do.

11 mil down the drain and he got nothing for it (bar a hardon for knacking a ship which gave up no fight). Well played that commander who done that. Fuck me. And they wonder why the online section is dead.

Cancelled all my pirate missions and turned it off and went to play something else. Sigh. Just want something to do in it which gives me some progress and not just data transfers from station to station grinding tid bits of cash for fuck all :/

I've been off it for the last couple of days until they sort out all the extra fuck-ups they've introduced with 3.0.3. You can't do the fast version of skimmer missions anymore as the skimmers only spawn if you're in an SRV. For some reason all the mining missions vanished and have only just returned (not that I'd do them but just another thing they fucked up.) Getting even a 200 Cr bounty now means you can't go into Outfitting in any station anywhere - all you can do is refuel until you find somewhere to pay the shitty bounty. A wing of Wanted pirates has reverted to the fuck0up of 3.0.2 where only some in the wing showed as mission targets so now you have to fight your way through twice as many to register enough.

I've gone back on tonight and the only good thing I can see is that if you accidentally shoot a pirate before you finish scanning him its no-longer classed as a crime if he turns out to be Wanted. Plus, doing my bounty hunting in Maia means that technically everyone except System Security is Lawless so there's no penalty there for shooting innocents either. I have taken the precaution though of switching off 'Report Crimes Against Me' just in case I get interdicted en route and inadvertently end up calling the cops myself!

With Maia being lawless it means I could go out and pirate to my hearts content aye without getting any bounties or any other crap? With not much else to do I might just kick fuck out of some traders/miners for shits n giggles. Don't wanna fuck any rep up tho or be then labelled as a pirate and not be able to do other shit.

Really wanna pirate shit, but they have just made it totally not worth the effort. My old Spectrum 48k career was built on pirating the fuck out of anything and everything (once got a half decent ship from doing Lave trips).

You still run the risk if clipping a cop by accident unless you stay in a HazRES.

Just for info... the AHM pirates are still in the RESs at Maia B 3 but the rings at B 5 have vanished (depleted) so anyone who appears there fuck off after flying around for a couple of minutes.

Well I think im almost done with this until they fix things and let us "blaze a trail in the galaxy however we want".

Flew all the way to a place I can start to pirate miners. Fitted my Python up with new equipment. Find a miner, interdict aaaaaaand before I can even target him and get weapons out he has fucked off. Tried this about 10 times to same effect. I'm not chasing them through galaxies, fuck that. Pirating is a fuck on enough without that bullshit.

WTF are they doing to the game. It's like all they want players to do is pickup a data transfer mission and fly in safety to next port and then back...

Still quite taken with Kingdom Come Deliverance, but I'm starting to think about this again.

Tbh I'm glad I took a break when I did, they've nerfed loads of the things that kept me coming back and a ton of players raging about money, grinding, bounties and engineering is never good.

I'm surprised FD haven't scaled payments. Unless you've got huge cargo hold (alreet!) the cost of ship rebuy is ridiculously high compared to the rewards you get. Needs sorting or we'll all be bombing around in Sidewinders with hangars full of trophy ships.

Talking of which... Got a new paint job to replace the @Slippery Jim clone. At least they got one thing right.

Where are you doing your hunting? If its Maia B 5 then I found that happening too. Its because the rings around B 5 are depleted so there are no miners and the pirates just fuck off real quick. Check to see if there are any mining ships and also keep an eye on the pirates' comms chatter - if you hear them complaining that there are no targets then its because the rings are depleted.

I'm still hammering away in Maia B 3 and the pirates stick around as usual. The big difference is that there are lots of pirates from factions I've never heard of and even when you do find a pirate from the faction you're looking for there's a 50/50 chance it doesn't even show as a mission target. Also, as I mentioned, the old bug where you can find a wing of what you think should all be mission targets but only half of them are (meaning for a wing of 4 you're having to kill all 4 of them but only get credited for 2) has returned.

You always expect there to be bugs when a new upgrade comes out but there are SO many in this one is begs the question why. Personally I blame the way they rely on players during beta testing to spot the bugs. Unfortunately there were so many new, shiny things to play with and the testing phase was so short that people concentrated on things like the new engineering, the new Guardian and Human tech and the new Chieftain that no-one doing the beta bothered to play the boring old bits so no-one noticed all the faults.

Im up at a place called Pathan (i think). Its lawless and im pulling miners out of supercruise and hatch breaking them (once I disable the ship). But, I pull them from cruise and within 2 seconds they just jump back out leaving a wake to another system. Meanwhile im left to sit for a few minutes twiddling my thumbs while my FSD cools down.. It's fucked.

Try using the hatchbreakers before disabling them if its just the cargo you're after. Or maybe target their FSDs?

You dont get the chance to do anything. It's literally this:

Pull him out of supercruise,
Turn ship to face him whilst start getting weapons out
He hyperspaces out within 5 seconds of being pulled out
I sit for 2 minutes with an FSD cooldown looking at his wake

Rince and repeat, no matter what the ship or how rated the npc is.

Wow, that does seem a bit fucked up! Maybe FDev have decided they want everyone to be model little citizens?

One thing is for certain; they need to fix this game before they lose a lot of players.

Servers are down until around 17:40 today for installation of patch 3.0.4. Update 3.0.4

I don't think they've addressed even a small fraction of the bugs in 3.0.3. They seem to have focused on the new bugs introduced with that release and totally ignored the hundreds of older bugs which have re-appeared which had been sorted previously.

Not very impressed!

UPDATE: Servers are back early and 3.0.4 is available as of 16:30.

New type of station?
Its Eagle Eye One - a listening post intercepting Thargoid transmissions out in the Pleiades. There are 4 in total and each one transmits a voice message which you need to write down then go to the Cannon website and use their online translator and this gives co-ordinates for a system where the Goids are going to be active within the next week. These locations are where the ships which hand out massacre missions for Thargoid Scouts will appear.

Be careful if you jump to any of the Eagle Eye outposts as you tend to drop out of supercruise about 10 feet from them - I smacked right into it!

The message I got was directing me to Pleiades Sector JC-V C2-9 1 A so I'm just about to fire up the Chieftain and go have a look.

Just to let you all know the Palin missions are back at Obsidian Orbital but they've been nerfed to death. They're only paying out around 1/10th of their previous value.

Think you might be too late. Been on since work scanning about 40 pirates and not seen 1 AHM pirate yet in the res zone. Turning it off if that is the case..
I've figured out what happened!

I had to do a drop-off at Alcazar's Hope in Merope and noticed that the Ant Hill Mob no longer have a presence in that system any more.

Basically we were too good and killed all the bastards!:lol::lol:

So they still control Obsidian Orbital or are they gone completely?

Yes they still control Obs Orb and still have faction presence in Pleiades Sector IH-V c2-16, HIP 17225 and Pleiades Sector AB-W b2-4 so if you need to get your rep back up with them you can always go to those systems and do missions for them.

I think me and @Giddup Sausage! just did too good a job on them in Merope.

Reduced to £8.99 on Steam. Too much for me I'm afraid.
Too much? Really? Consider the fact that I've played this game almost every day for the last 3 years and then ask yourself if its too much. :D

Hudson Observatory in HIP 17694 is now fully repaired.

No AHM pirate missions at all there now.

Off to check Artemis in Celaeno.

Artemis Lodge is still under repair and are still offering big payouts for AHM in Maia. Just took 6 missions for 65M Cr.

Looks like its only the broken stations which are offering these jobs.

I'm hearing whispers that the skimmer missions have been un-nerfed. No idea where yet but as soon as I find out I'll let you know.
