Running Thread 2017

My running has fallen apart. 2 months into a new job and really struggling to get any decent training in. Now sick so will be out for a bit longer.

Need to find a way to get it done - London marathon training isn't going to do itself. Should be through 2 weeks of training for it by now.

Any of you run Aykley Heads XC on Saturday? My god that's a tough course!!
Aye, it was worse the last two years though. Was quite dry this year. It made me laugh when I noticed a train parked up alongside the course. People must’ve been looking out the windows thinking “wtf “ . . .

Yes I thought that was funny. It was my first time I've ran the course but heard about the mud of 2yrs ago! ( it's my 1st season running XC)
I seen yourself on Saturday. I had just finished the race and you walked past crooks tent probably on your way back to the car.

Aye, was dashing off at the finish. Give us a shout if you see us again. Are you doing the Redcar one 9th December?

Yes I'll be there & I'll give you a shout!
We can't get any of our faster runners at XC barring 1 or 2 so we are struggling badly in the league. It's Potentially back to back relegations.

My first year in tbe harrier league and I enjoyed this one more than wreckington, druridge and temple park. Probably because i prefer xcountrys with hills and it was quite cool.

I noticed a few casualties and people spewing as well as one guy running barefoot..

My first season too. I've found mysejf becoming fitter from the XC races. I started couch to 5k, May 2016 & joined Crook AC in January. I'm always injured though

Similar to me. My wife and i started running with a social running group which is actually part of north shields poly to get fit.

When i say social there are runners from 40 min parkruns to sub 18 so wide range of abilities.

My wife and i joined the actual poly earlier this year so have been able to run in the club events which have been fab.

I struggled with injuries but after a visit to a physio have got into the routine of doing daily exercises to strenghthen my hips, knees and calfs and it seems to work.

Herrington and Alnwick are good courses going into next year. Both have features to jump :)

Was a class course at East Tanfield too with a 'water feature'. Not been on the calander for a couple of years though

Seen Crook weren't doing too well, you're even below us!

Think the Brampton to Carlisle run on Sunday enticed a few away from XC. Heard Carl Chapman wasn't running as much as well, though he did race Saturday.

It was Carl's first race since march so he ran well. He's still running 50mile+ a week.

Anyone doing this ?
Just seen in in NE races :

Might do the 10k or half but genuinely never heard of it before
It's not a race as such, more of a social fundraiser.
