White balance settings....

I have a Nikon D3200 and when in manual, my night pics have too much blue in them! Any tips?

Fine on long exposure/light painting shots shots but not on the traditional shots.

Strange. Was it very dark when you took that pic? What settings did you use - ISO/Shutterspeed/Aperture etc... and where did you set your focus?

Got no problems like that on my D3300 however if anything I often purposefully (slightly) undrexpose (especially camera in hand) for the quicker shutter speed.

Yes it was pitch black, just along from the Glass Centre. Manual setting, iso 100, f10/11 and 5 seconds on the shutter speed (with tripod).....Only night shots that i have the issue.

Try moving your focus to the bottom left/right (to the buildings) when you next take it (or similar) although it doesn't appear to have overexposed the buildings too much - I imagine you'll still get some blue though.

Otherwise not sure. Tried googling it?

Will do. Yes and the general consensus is play about with the white balance settings but doesn't specify which one for night time.

Don't want to play it safe and stick to auto as i've took some pretty decent shots in manual.

I use manual day and night. Auto is shite (for night) and wouldn't allow you to take that pic anyway as it would stick your flash on.

I know people do change/recommend to alter white balance for night shots but I never have done. My camera's white balance is the same in the day and night. Funnily enough I don't think I actually know where the white balance settings are. Something I should potentially learn.

I keep my finger over the flash at night so it doesn't pop up! You're lucky then as the blue is a pain.
