Still can't master this, but being able to jump up and grab onto Tails whilst he flie you about is a nice touch - you used to have to switch controllers on the Mega Drive to do that. :lol:

It's actually a play in a old game of the sonic franchise called Dr Robotniks mean bean machine (which itself was loosely based of Tetris, alot of games were), total fan service stuff in this. Took me three rounds of continues to beat the Flying battery boss :lol:

Are we talking Puyo Puyo here? Sonic has never been associated with Tetris to the best of my knowledge, whereas Sega own the rights to Puyo (I think).

Loving Sonic Mania here.

They must have known that the people buying it would be grown-ups that played it as kids in the 90s; it's much harder than the old ones. Still having fun trying to speed through (second playthrough to 100% probably).

The bosses are superb; like how they haven't made it immediately obvious how to beat them.

Was googling stuff on the game and happened across this which made me chuckle:

Aye some of the bosses are canny hard like - mind I'm beating them by Tails hitting them whilst I'm getting knacked running about for me lost rings. :lol:

The emerald special stage is rock mind - and finding the golden rings to access them even harder! I haven't got a single emerald yet. Done loads of the Sonic 3 type ones though.

I'd niver even heard of Puyo Puyo before this thread like. Columns was the boy for the proper Mega Drive fans out there. :cool:
 
There aint a physical release anywhere.

It's either on PSN Store, Xbox Store, Nintendo Store or Steam on PC.
 
Anyone know what the silver coins are for that you get through the the Sonic 3 special stages?
 
Balls. Had nowt to do today and could have bought and played this.

For some reason I thought it was a full price £40 title.
