I went to this match this aft, it also had the rare feat of 6 sixes in an over from Whiteley of Worcester.

He hit 4 on the spin, then the bowler bowled a wide then hit 2 more.

Fantastic stuff.

Batting him at 3 in T20 and giving him a license to go out and play his shots seems to have worked wonders for him and us. A lot of Yorkies, me included, were starting to question why we signed him. Would be nice if he could start contributing in the CC too.

Don't care. He's exactly the sort of player we need if he keeps this up. Good county player but not good enough at international level. Like Ballance.

Utter hack at international level mind.

Needs to find a way to channel his obvious destructive ability.

He bats at top of order for Yorkshire

Useless coming in at the end against old ball

Although he was good in the world cup final

If I was a franchise, he would be one of my first signings.

Flat track bully until he does it at international level.

Man of the match in a world cup final mind

Hell of a short form player, one of the best we have

His pace is 80s, so y ou think he would be OK. Has he not bowled well?

What the fuck you on about Johnson? That was Marlon Samuels.

Ah I thought he was. Certainly would have been but for Braithwaite's 4 balls.

That's the funny thing, he hasn't really cracked that aspect of his game for us yet. He's doing the right things but always seems to go round the park. Think he's more effective when it swings.

Seen him play some cracking knocks up the order in T20 over the last few years, just don't think there's a gap for him to do that in the current England side.

Think he has a pretty limited technique, put it on a length on off stump and he'll hoick it over midwicket, put it past his nose and he doesn't like it. Similar (but better) to that lad who played for Essex until a couple of years ago, can't remember his name. Occasionally he'd score 60 off 20 or something crazy like that but most of the time scored nothing.

Edit - Graham Napier

Fair point, he certainly seems to rely on eye and power and his technique or lack of would most likely be exposed up the top of the order at international level.

He must be one of the only players to hit a ton but never a 50 in t20 matches like.

There isn't, there are a few times though when sides open with a left arm spinner or such like, he would be a good pinch hitter opening the batting, its almost a free shot at it.

Seen Narine do it very successfully recently.
