Snes Super Nintendo classic

The ROM was 'unfinished' this is apparently the full release. Still, for me, no sale! Nintendo are the masters of getting money five or six times for selling old releases over and over.
They are indeed. I honestly think it would get them a lot of goodwill, and sales, if the switch online subscription service included the NES and SNES era back catalogue.

Doesn't fit with their company policies at all.

There's "never released" and there's "never released"...sure I had a rom of it over a decade ago. Shite compared to 64 iirc.

Aye.

For years now I've been tempted to buy a busted SNES, rip the guts out and stick a pi in with a load of roms.
I was going to not bother with the classic and just buy the original carts and probably save some cash - just looked and mario kart and zelda alone are going for £30 - £50 EACH!

Their company policies are weird - the nes and now the snes classics will probably outsell the switch and they will just discontinue them!

It doesn't, they are quite backwards when it comes to this kind of thing.

I am excited for a switch version of Pokémon though, been wanting a "proper" Pokémon on console game since the GameCube, and I would likely buy a switch for that alone.

Retro gaming is really expensive. I get paid on Friday, think I'll look into it as a project next month.

the issue i have with the pi and emulation station is the games dont look that great on a big HDTV - i need to play around with the filters to get the games looking ok - i guess the mini nes and snes already has this sorted.

NES/SNES games are always going to look worse on huge screens. When something was output at 256x224 to 512x448 then of course it's going to look like shit on a modern day telly. I'm not sure there's a lot can be done about this?

I know there are adjustments that can be made, over played PS1 games that looked okay with the right filters. All a bit over my head tbh.

Never went down the emulator route, but I still play PS1 games on the PSP from time to time. Tried them on the TV but they look dreadful - the smaller screen though and they look just as they did.

Not only are they the masters but we are the morons falling for it. I'd pay £100 each for a Switch remake of OoT and MM. I'll also be getting WW and TP on the switch if it goes backwards compatible.

Got one ordered from argos this morning:cool:
it was showing as in stock for about 15 mins this morning. did you pay up front or when its sent?

did the mini nes not upscale them to make them look better?

It'll upscale but it's still just stretching a small image across a bigger screen and roughly smoothing the edges. It'll still not look great.
