Bloodborne/Dark Souls 2 & 3

Ended up trading in Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 last month in a huff after not being able to get past the first parts of the game.

Dark Souls 2 was in the PS sale so thought why not give it one more try. Really enjoying it after persevering and getting better at it. Love the online functions on it, being able to summon help and reading tips other people have left.

Enjoying it so much that I re bought Bloodborne

I also just bought DS2 in the PS4 sale and it is f***ing rocks. I'm in the Forest of Fallen giants now and have my flask up to +4 which is helping but I cannot get past the bit I'm up to.

Which part are you up to?

I've just "completed" the forest of fallen giants and I'm 12 hours in  kept farming souls to level up

To start I should say I'm hopeless at these types of games and that's without the Dark Souls level of difficulty. I'm not far past the 2nd bonfire but I keep getting overwhelmed on the battlements

I started as a Warrior and so far I've upgraded Strength to 17, Endurance to 10 and Adaptability to 10. I'm using a wooden club (but also have a fire sword) and the rest of the stuff I have is a bit shit

Oh and my health is already capped at 50% maximum due to dying loads, don't want to use a human effigy yet though as it is too early

Have you reached the tower bonfire? That's an old woman who sells an axe which is canny. I just spent hours going through that area respawning enemies until they vanish to level up. The second boss in the area is solid like

Yeah I'm just past her and bought the axe, it is quicker so I use that on the softer (lol) enemies. I use the club mainly because it levels up A with strength and I'm a warrior so seems a no brainer

Just for context I have only killed a single fat Cyclops so far and had to use ranged weapons for about a third of its health, I've been killed about 20 times off them

As shit as I am it is still enjoyable but I will need to keep progressing or else I'll get bored, I don't mind if it is slow progression like. I'm playing that and Yakuza Zero at the moment so swapping between them helps as both games are completely different

Making progress on PS4 dark souls 2. Killed 4 bosses now and up to no mans wharf. The Pursuer took me about 20 goes ha but The Last Giant, Dragonrider and Dragon slayer all got killed on me 2nd attempt
By far the hardest baddy so far for me had been the Heide Knights, they kicked the shit out of me for f***ing ages

The Pursuer was horrific man. Had to summon a phantom to shoot the giant cross bow at him while I ran around like a little bitch.

I've just finished no mans wharf. There's nothing of great difficulty but the sheer number of enemies made it tricky. Got a lot easier when you turn on the lights! Just about to knack the dragon and the dragon slayer today. If anything ever summed up dark souls it is that, you have to beat a fire breathing dragon just to get to a boss

How are you that far without knowing that

You just need to restore your humanity with a human effigy

I always have a few goes myself and if I am still stuck I youtube the boss fight. I've summoned people for the Gargoyles boss and the Woman Scorpion boss as I couldn't do them on my own so cheers mate and @Dexter cos I couldn't work out why I had no summon signs on the ground

I've kept all the souls from the boss fights so far, anyone know what I can use them for as they all say 'or perhaps' at the end of their item descriptions

You meet other NPCs who can transform them into weapons or spells. Most aren't really worth it, on your first play through its best just to consume them and get the souls to help you level up.

They make special armour and weapons. I just quickly googled what they make and none of them seemed worth it so I used them all and got 45000 extra souls

Spent all me boss souls, was going to keep them just in case but couldn't beat this massive rat boss without levelling up as you can't summon help

Ugh super stuck on dark souls 2, cant kill the ancient dragon for the giant soul and cant kill vendrick without it even though i already have 4 giant souls

Not been as stuck as this since i first started playing

I'm on a new play through on bloodborne. So much easier playing it this time having played Souls 2+3. Sped through to the old forest in a few hrs!

Don't bother with the Ancient Dragon, four souls are more than enough for Vendrick. Get in close and just stick to his right leg and he pretty much can't do anything. Once you learn what his three attacks are it's a fairly routine fight.

The Fume Knight, fuck you

He is impossible man. I kick the shit out of him until he buffs his weapon then it is game over about 20 times in a row last night
