All proceeds from this gig go directly to A space 2 grow. We’ll also have a pop up kitchen in the yard! And a raffle with some excellent prizes.

A Space 2 Grow community garden has been up and running for the past 12 years, and over that time has hosted groups ranging from uni students to refugees, enabling people to have a space to learn about permaculture, local history, or just to chill out if they don't have a green space of their own to relax in. Since lockdown, as with most community groups, it has been tough to maintain and started to fall into disrepair.
I joined the management team on October 2023, and have been slowly renovating it to get ready to start the growing season for spring summer 2024. I have paid for most of these things either out of my own pocket, or through other members of the management team. This is becoming a little unsustainable but we do not want to give up on the project.
All proceeds from this benefit gig will be going towards the following;
1. Site security (new locks)
2. Setting up a social space inside the disused bee shed for volunteers to chill out in
3. Repair and repainting of the woodwork on site
4. Installing a wildlife garden in place of the beehives
5. Installing new raised herb beds to teach people about where their favourite herbs and spices come from
6. Insurance for the garden
If anyone is interested in volunteering, see me at the gig
Cheers
