Australia won the toss and batted, and they're currently 243-9 with 1 over to go. Chris Woakes taken a 6-for, only the 2nd England bowler to achieve that after Colly.

249 all out.

michael clarke was booed on the way in to bat by the gabba crowd.

250 'should' be a very achievable total as long as the middle order put some effort in...

22/3 oh dear

Has there ever been a more effeminate fast bowler than Brett Lee though, with his stupid jump.

they certainly will.... very good bowling from lee but ordinary shot selection from england again.

i was talking lee up in the pub on friday, saying how important he was to this side and how well he'd done since getting back in the team and an aussie bloke laughed at me...

He still looks like their best ODI bowler to me, handy lower order batsman and an excellent fielder aswell.

KP is due a big ODI innings, could do with it today, didn't realise how alarmingly his average in 50 over games has dropped.

Gower is going mental with Smith here like.

Rightly so too, refreshing to here a commentator not afraid to upset the apple cart.

i really fail to understand pietersen....

we don't need to lose wickets, we don't need to score at more than we are/were and he's facing a bowler using a change of pace (event the ball before)...

yet the goes and tries to knock the skin off a ball and was totally undone for pace...

i've been really disappointed in him, he plays like he's batting in the last 10 overs with 8 wickets left every time.

i can't believe he's a serious contender for collingwood's test spot.

He certainly seems to have lost a lot of the momentum he had when he first came into the side. I think his problem has been that in his early games, he really was digging England out of holes a lot, which is a lot easier to do when in good form. Now when he's not quite in that form, he looks unsure of how to approach his innings.

I do think there are doubts over his test playing ability, he has a very good temperment but his game isn't tight enough at the moment IMO.

Can Finn/Anderson pull off a miracle here?

The answer's no, obviously, but at least someone is finally making a fist of it.

Why do England take these players for the Ashes then don't even play them even in the warm up games, Morgan seems to be another who been badly affected by this hopefully he will come back into form come the test series. Also he should be batting higher than Ian Bell

Bollocks, why?

Bollocks, why?

Morgan averages 52.46 at number 5 the longer he has to bat the bigger the score England will get. Bell averages 34.20 at number 5 and has a far inferior strike rate. I can't understand why we would compromise our best ODI batsmen for a guy who has so far failed to make the grade in ODI's.

add to the fact Morgan has scored more ODI hundreds than Bell tell me why Bell should be ahead of Morgan?

Technically he is Englands best player and has rearranged his game in the last 12 months. Morgan is a good finisher ( well has been) and that why I would keep him where he is
