Why are USA so **** at ‘soccer'?

Parents don't let their kids out for a kickabout, as they will almost certainly be shot (or bummed).
Or both.

Will be a surprise in store this summer

Best buddies Donald J and Infantino surely have it rigged
100%. I've tipped the USA 🇺🇸 to get a lot further than people expect due to "home advantage" and Trumpy's close friendship with Infantino. Don-Don is going to be front and centre for all the positive publicity the competition creates and NO WAY will he be wanting the USA embarrassed on his watch. I can see him putting a MAGA hat on the winning captain as he hands over the trophy.

Average MLB game last year was 2 hours, 38 minutes.
Yeah but is that actual game time? Be a lot more if you include ad breaks etc.

What an utterly ridiculous suggestion 😂

And in the ridiculous world of Trump and Fanni, entirely plausible

I'll wager both myself, and your good self, never ever in a month of blue moons and leap years thought that FIFA would issue a peace medal 🏅.

And certainly not to that cretin. Edison Arantes do Nascimento maybe for scoring the winner against the Nazis but Trumpy...ha'way!

Association football? Soccer? Marvellous
Isn't it? Wasn't it? Small boys in the park...jumpers for goal posts...dribbling round the 🐕 💩...rushy goalies...22-30 at half time...golden times.

Japan are a good example of what can be achieved in a relatively short space of time.

They didn't really have a football culture when they staged the World Cup with South Korea but they launched the J-League on the back of it.

Just over a couple of decades later and they're beating England at Wembley.

They had a league before 2002, Lineker played there in 92, well he got a big cheque to go there

There's a really good BBC documentary about Des Armstrong which talks about access to facilities for the less well off. Seems unlikely it'll change any time soon.

“ A common misconception is that the event was named after The New York World newspaper, which sponsored the games. However, historians trace the name to earlier 19th-century baseball guides that used grand titles. The historical context includes:The First Showdowns: In the 1880s, postseason matchups between the National League and the American Association were branded as the "World's Championship" to declare the best team in the country. The Modern Era: When the first modern series was played in 1903 between the Boston Americans and the Pittsburgh Pirates, the organizer (Pirates owner Barney Dreyfuss) officially called it a "World's Championship Series".The Scope: Because professional baseball leagues did not exist elsewhere at the time, winning this postseason series meant a team was realistically the best in the world.”
SAFC English league champions played Hearts Scottish league champions in Edinburgh in 18895 for the World championship . . We won

They are improving all the time, they'll likely have a super generation before long. It only takes two or three top players to make a massive difference.

Current generation is outdoubtedly the most talented they've had - but there are black holes at centre back and goalie, which is usually a strength. Also a lot of egos now at play since there are a bunch of Champoins League and Premier League players across the board. Question is whether Poch can get a tune out of them and keep it tight in the back.

With such huge Hispanic and Latino populations in Amirca it is quite surprising. I believe Spanish has overtaken English as the dominantly used language in the USA now
"English is the most spoken language in America, acting as the primary language for over 297 million people. Spanish is the second most spoken language, with over 44 million speakers"

So, 12% Spanish and 86% English. Based on a population of 342 million.
