Ideal summer window

Roefs. Ellborg
Mukiele Hume
Mandava (LB)
Ballard, Alderete, O'Nien (CH)
Xhaka, Le Fee, Sadiki, Rigg, Diarra (CM)
Ta Bi (RW) (RW)
Talbi, Angulo
Brobbey, Isidor, Mayenda

As the title states, what for you would your ideal (but still realistic) summer transfer window look like in terms of ins and outs?

Just a bit of fun, and a distraction from the thousands of random links that are already floating about

My purely speculative list

Ins:

Pickford - Top teams have 2 top class keepers. Bayern this season had Urbig come in for league games immediately after European games where Neuer would start. Good for home grown as well.

Lucumi - The link that won't go away. Looks like an absolute unit, seems much more likely to leave with Bologna missing out on Europe, and with Europa we should be in a great position.

Geertruida - Class player who seems to have slotted in really well. Plays across numerous positions and is going to be very useful for squad depth

Archie Brown - Already linked and we definitely need a left back. Looks a really tidy player and can play across quite a few positions

Henderson - i know he's 100 years old, but we've seen the importance of having a 2nd manager on the pitch this season, and the consequence of not having it. High wages, low fee, again good for home grown

Arthur Avom - Another already linked, can play in a few central positions and is already known by Regis. Seems to have a really high ceiling and is growing in value at a young age

Marmoush - The marquee signing. I watched him when he played for Frankfurt and I can say that Man City have not got out of him what I expected. He is rapid, has an eye for a goal and would immediately improve us.

Bamba Dieng - 10 in 22 last season for a mid-table Lorient side, and now out of contract. Signed by Regis before being sent out on loan by his successor.

Outs

Patto - £8m would be a great price for us, and right now is third choice. Id love to see him do well somewhere

Masuaku - We need better, never looked like he was at the required level

Adingra - Clearly a very good player, doesn't fit the way we play. A good world cup could see his value go up nicely

Diarra - Clearly very talented, and one of only two players I think would divide opinion on this list. Getting the money back we spent on him could allow us to reinvest better IMO

Mundle - Its a shame he's on here, because I really rate him, but he's not at the level we need and we could improve that area if he moved on

Mayenda - there is a possibility he turns into a world beater, and getting shot of him is a mistake, but for where we are right now it makes sense.

Hjelde, Pembele, Rusyn, Ba, Aleksic, Abdullahi all that they're not good enough

In

RB/CB - Lutsharel Geertruida - Reasons we already know from last season. Has to be our first choice right back if he joins.

LCB - Natan - The first of the Samba boys. Plays for Betis, comes in and automatically replaces Alderete at LCB. All about competition and good squad depth. A stepping stone to a top champs league team

LB - Archie Brown - English left back playing in Turkey at Fenerbahche. We need competition for Rei and need an English player or two. This lad fits the bill.

DM - Geoffrey Kondogbia - Great back up option to Xhaka. We cannot spend fortunes on everyone and this makes sense.

No8 - Lucas Bergval - The guy who breaks our transfer record. Personally think he’s class but is he what Spurs require at this time to start? He’d start for us every game.

RW - Allan - Right sided winger that plays for Palmeiras. Loves to drive inside onto his left with the ball.

LW - Crysencio Summerville - One of very few bright sparks at West Ham

No10/Second Striker - Angel Correa - Always thought he was unlucky at Atleti to be on the bench so often. Moved to Mexico and is scoring and assisting for fun. Reinildo have a word. The kind of experience that would be a big plus for us for a couple of seasons now we’re in Europe. Wouldn’t be expensive. One last European dance!

No9 - Luis Openda - Linked with him last summer, well known to Ghisolfi. BHH

Out

Everyone you’ve said except Diarra.

Well if Bayern Munich can have two top class keepers, there’s no reason we shouldn’t! 😂 and we have seen the importance of a manager of the pitch type player, cos we have one. I was up for signing Henderson last summer, that ship has sailed.

In terms of what we do need, goals scored are where we need to improve, so a productive winger and prolific striker. Both easier said than done of course. And then some strength in depth, utility players who can cover more than one position would be ideal.

Would you say that's a £200m spend or around £150m?

Which ones would you then leave out of the Europa League squad?

I’d say closer to £200m

Kondogbia and Correa would come in on minimal transfer fees but offer the squad so much.

The rest, theres some big transfers in there. However I don’t see us having both Diarra and Sadiki next season, I think one moves on.

With Openda we should be trying to get him on loan for the season with an obligation to buy.

Is Europa a squad of 25 or 26?

25 but that must include 4 homegrown players from our academy and another 4 homegrown in England. If you can't fill those quotas, you have to leave an open space.

26 registered, 25 in the match day squad. We won’t be signing 9 players, unless like you said a few leave.

Didn’t Ghisolfi say 5 or 6?

LB, LCB, CM, RW and a utility type Geertruida signing.

Surely won’t change our recruitment strategy because of the Europa?

I can’t see us going for overpaid, over valued English players like Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliot or signing Archie Brown just because he’s English.

We’ll stick to what’s worked with France, Belgium and Holland, where the value is. Just potentially now that next level signing.

Will we not just register Moore, Ballard, Luke and say Mundle and take Rigg, Jones and 2 more academy lads?
Our model is value.

We’d sign Bowen for £50m if we think it delivers the next phase of the project.

It’s not just buy cheap sell high, it’s what value will individuals bring to the table.

Xhaka the best example. £25m, £100k plus a week and zero sell on. But brings us something of value which is worth it

I have absolutely no idea who we might buy l don’t think any of our major players will leave) but l do have 100% confidence that we will only bring in players who “fit the profile” and have bought into the “team project”. No prima donnas just solid hard working professionals who are committed to where we are aiming to be in the next few years.
Bring it on l say!

You won't be able to register a lot of these players. Only 17 would be allowed and then you must have home grown players. Maybe losing Cirkin and Neil is a mistake? Anyway we need homegrown players this window. Archie Brown at left back could be a good choice, Cresswell too. How about Liam Delap? Could get for twenty million?

Yeah and I was saying there’s better value abroad that’s all. We won’t and don’t need to sign a load of English players this summer.

Bayern was an example, but most top teams have two extremely good keepers battling for #1. You comfortable if something happened to Roefs that Ellborg or Moore are going to hold their own against AC Milan, Juventus, Leverkusen, Benfica, RB Salzburg or any of the other number of top teams we could be facing next season?

We do need to be signing English players though, or we lose the slot for allocation

There’s only 1 slot left to fill.

(Moore, Ballard, Luke and one other.)

4 of the 8 need to be from our own academy.

Unless we sign Henderson, Pickford we will be registering with 4 empty slots anyway.
