I think the total fee inclusive of add-ons so £60 initial up front. Those asking where Barcelona have got the money from, it's £12m a year on the books and maybe Gordon's wages aren't as massive as some other players given he's always wanted to play for them so maybe they're saving a few £million in that respect?

He's always seemed quite articulate in interviews when I've heard him so not surprised he's managed to pick up das lingo. Well, always seemed alright other than when he was pretending they were better than us, which was desperate grandstanding.

And I think he'll do well at Barca.

This is it now for them....every season their best players will leave.....only to be replaced by inferior ones. They have peaked. Not a chance in hell will they be one of the best sides in the world by 2030 they will probably be lucky to be still in the Premiership

It's hard enough replacing good players with decent ones to keep you in the league and I guess it's even harder at the top to replace the better players and keep the standard at the top level.

Look at how Man Utd/Chelsea/Spurs have suffered since losing players. The difference is that they have the large revenues to take big hits on player values when they shift them on. The mags don't have that luxury and it's why they can't go spending big again this summer unless they sell. However selling Gordon and say Tonali and replacing them with another Elanga/Ramsey would be a big loss in overall squad quality.

Even a new shiny stadium doesn't guarantee success, just ask Spurs once they lost Kane and then Son as they've also been spending £millions. They spent just as much as the mags last season ( and I'd say only Kudus was worth it this season and he was injured for a lot of it.

I also think they've peaked as it's clear they simply can't spend what they need to sustain being at the top on player fees and more so wages that top players demand.

Amazed to hear an English footballer speaking very decent Spanish (pronunciation-wise) during his presentation today in Barcelona.

One might say he's not as stupid as he looks.

Apparently he was a boyhood Barça fan and has been preparing for this moment by taking Spanish lessons, while not haring down the wing at Newcastle.

However, if he is not equally as fluent in Catalan by next year, he should be sold.

I agree but if he was a boyhood fan of Barca he should have been learning Catalan.
It’s not pedantic but Barca are steeped in Catalan tradition and history and the language is very very important. It’s how they distance themselves from the Spanish and Castilian language
