SOL expansion

The club will be thinking about it but they're not gonna do it after one amazing season in the PL. For now until it happens people are just gonna have to be on the ball at 10am on a Tuesday, its part and parcel of being in the Premier league

Not that long ago really
This.

Utterly pie in the sky thinking to assume they'll appoint a contractor to extend it based on 1 season in the PL.

Will take at least 2-3 seasons (absolute minimum) of sustained PL football AND (more critically) almost every game selling out for them to have a business case to do so.

Folk on here also don't understand how expensive building works of this scale are now, material prices sky high and no sign of them coming down soon.

The club will want concrete evidence that supply and demand is there long term.

Don't be daft. Why are Leeds, Forest and Villa (?) extending then?
Been selling out for x amount of years longer than us I imagine. I'm not against it but seen a few suggestions that we should extend because they can't pick and choose where they sit etc. If the club carry on improving then that will still be the case whether we extend or not

It’s not really like.

Average boring league games are the good tests on the need for expansion. Every man and his dog is going to want a ticket for the European games.
This.
Have to factor in designs, contractors, costs, planning permission, procurement which would be massive if it’s the east stand given all the equipment for corporate to be added. Having all that in place, is the realisation that it can’t be started during a football season for obvious reasons including H&S. In effect any extension would mean probably 2years from design to completion. So in essence any extension isn’t imminent unfortunately. Any delays means higher construction costs both in labour and materials.
And this.

Some on here think it's as simple as just planting a shovel in the ground and 'cracking on' with it. Hilarious tbf.

Whole thing from inception, design, procurement, mobilisation and construction. It's a 2 year thing minimum, and I'm of the belief they'll only hit go on the whole process after 2-3 years of sustained selling out of the current capacity.

Basically you're looking at around 2030 at the very earliest before it'll be done.

Not worth risking your Premier League form busting a gut to make the top 8. Accept you may have an extra knockout round but take it easy, rotate your players and keep them fresh. Maybe need 10 points from 8 games to qualify to proceed to knockout stage. A couple of early home wins then relax.
Aye. PSG and other big clubs take very little interest in the CL mega division games. They do just enough to get through. If it’s via the playoffs then so be it. The mags were full of themselves for getting through automatically despite numerous media articles explaining WTF was going on.
Another good transfer window with 5-6 bargains of the 9-10 Crown Jewels standard from last summers window should be enough to see us reach the KO rounds with no relegation fears. After that it’s “til the end” time again.
Why would any business do that, they’ll want them sold asap
Anytime your in the market for some magic beans give me a PM marra.

Are any of those on the waiting list gonna get a chance of a season ticket for the upcoming season? Not sure if it’s been said they will or not.

Not trying to win an argument 🤷‍♂️ just making a point people seem to find a way to make it midweek for certain games.

One off games with high levels of jeopardy, people make the extra effort.
The europa cup, theres 4 home games where you can afford to drop points & that you can pick & choose.

Ok, so you’re saying only the proper fans will make an effort? Fair enough, probably best we don’t extend stadium then.

Im saying loads of people wont/cant afford to pay £200 extra for games that include tin pot teams with very little riding on it. So you think someone can only be a 'proper' fan if theyre absolutely minted?

I’m not minted but I will definitely make an attempt to go to all home games.

We aren’t going to support tin pot teams. We’re going to support Sunderland 👍

Bully for you. Many wont have that luxury, and if they have to chose, theyll make more of an effort for the top seed game rather than bottom seeds.
If the club get greedy, and charge as much as they can, we wont sell out.

Aye they’ll probs just watch it in a pub and spend the ticket money there 🤷‍♂️

Tbh I think we are more likely to see the concourses redeveloped and expanding, with more corporate and boxes added rather than a new tier of seating for the foreseeable. They will want it make it so that you as a fan find the concourse pleasant and the queues for food and drink short so they can get more matchday revenue.
