Gutted it's over

The end of the football season is always a bit crap. Even worse this year as not as excited about the world cup as I usually would be.

At least this year we have a European draw to look forward to in August as well.

Anyone else on a bit of a downer now the season's finished?

What a season this has been man. Absolutely tremendous. It's been an absolute joy start to finish.
A bit yeah. Obviously we can bask in the warm glow all summer and get excited about transfer business and foreign trips but the gap to the start of next season will feel quite long I reckon.
I was gonna ask when that is.
28th August, after the play-off games have taken place.

Here's a useful table:

Yes and no, it's been a wonderful 12+ months but we've got plenty to look forward to. I'll be watching the euro league qualifying rounds (start 3 weeks today) which I've never done before. We've got the World Cup which starts even sooner as well and despite the ridiculousness of it's size and how many qualify out the group stages I'll still watch tonnes of it. We've also got transfer rumours galore and Dembele coming to sign for us

The qualifying rounds start in 3 weeks, get watching a bit of that to see some of our possible opponents

The World Cup will be an absolute mess, really not too arsed about it tbh

Nice to have the break especially when things have ended so well. We've got a few months to rub it in so I'll bask in that for a while

Every game, especially early doors and then towards the end, felt like a cup final with a huge amount at stake and it was mentally draining.

As fans, we can go into the summer with our feet up. A World Cup coming up and European football to look forward to next season.

Think of how gutted we'd all feel now if Chelsea had equalised. It'd be the longest summer of all time (and not in a good way).

Scratch that, its the first qualifying round draw in 3 weeks. First games are July 9th

Best season in my life time. Best team in my lifetime.

I hope this is just the beginning of more.

Xhaka was the missing piece we always needed. He made it all work.
Hands down. Top to bottom. This is the best shape the club's ever been in.

An ambitious young owner, football daft, with loadsa money. ✅
A driven, professional, football-centric hierarchy. ✅
A cool, calm, calculated head coach. ✅
Some of the best players we've ever had. Ever. ✅
A tight-knit dressing room with a connection to the fans. ✅
A well run commercial department.✅
Absolutely first rate social media campaigns. ✅
Improvements to the ground & infrastructure. ✅

Someone pinch me in case I wake up.
