I also think that when everyone’s fit and not suspended we have quality in 9 positions. Both wings being our weakness. That’s where priority must lie imho. These lads are all decent and swimming in the sort of pools where we did our fishing last summer. I can’t see SAFC looking to bring in big names so if not any of these it’ll be similar. I mean it worked last summer so why not this time anarl?

If Isidor does want to go, I would fancy Balogun as a quality replacement. No idea how much he would cost though.

While Monaco are working under a more sustainable model these days, they paid a good chunk for him and Arsenal have a hefty sell on fee.

I think you are totally right on the 'same again' idea, with the bonus we are building from a strong base.

Big names command huge wages, and I wouldn't want us going down that route at this point, and potentially ending up with a mag-like squad of big nsme mercenaries swallowing all our budget.

I assume our turnover is about £200 million
So 15% of this is £30 million
So we can spend £30 million less by qualifying for Europe than if we hadn't.
In anyones definition that's huge

So, in theory of £200m turnover, instead of £170m to spend on transfer and wages, we can only spend £140m on transfer and wages?

That doesn’t take into account any player sales we may make?

Wonder what our annual wages are.

How much does revenue increase because of Europa? A smaller percentage may not mean a materially smaller amount if our revenue is substantially increased?

Made the Portugal squad for this summer. Would complement Xhaka well and be an amazing rotation option with Sadiki if he stays. Only 25 and with Mallorca going down, probably gettable for £12-15m.

Arthur Avom (previous interest) is probably on the radar on a free transfer from Lorient. With Europe and Xhaka's age, we will realistically need 6 CMs capable of starting next season, so that one is a no brainer if Lorient don't extend.

I know I'm contracting that but i'd go for Ritz Doan from Frankfurt. Hard working Japanese left footed right winger.

But I assume our Europa income will be on the seasons after turnover?

Need more players , but our spending cap is now 70% of revenue as we are in the Europa , compared to 85% this season.
I have no idea of the state of our finances mind - but it's a huge constraint

We need an elite right winger. Clearly we’ve managed well this season, but it’s an obvious position we need to strengthen.

We need a left winger also, Angulo looks no where near the quality required.

I can predict 2 things that I can genuinely see happening

1) we sign someone that everyone goes “how the f have they pulled that off? What a signing” - Xhaka-esque.

2) we sign somebody nobody has ever heard of who comes into the team and is a star.

Couldn’t begin to give you any names though, but I can see both being almost nailed on.
