Hume to Madrid

22 euro?? f***ing rip off. He worth more than this. He is our best right back.
I’d be surprised if he’s our second best RB
We got Mukiele for 11m or thereabouts, that would put Hume’s value at 5m at best
Hume is good to have in the squad as a finisher ( as RLB terms them )
IMO his first touch, technique and distribution render him unworthy of a start
He does have a good engine, can mark à player and loves à tackle, all good qualities
When I see some of the wastes of space we have seen in an SAFC shirt in not too distant past eg Gibson, Rodwell, Ndong ( the latter 2 we paid relatively big money for ) Hume doesn’t deserve some of the derision hurled his way but I certainly don’t see the budding ‘ Declan Rice’ some appear to making him out to be

His distributions good imo, he's got great technique putting in a cross, I'd say his positioning is his most questionable trait and maybe a lack of pace at the top level. I really rate him but Real Madrid seems a stretch, they did sign Thomas Graveson once upon a time though and Hume's miles ahead of him technically.

Everything about Trai.....his energy, tackling and so on is Premier League.....until he has the ball at his feet.....then he's not Premier League.

I think that's more an issue with composure than technique though, short passes in tight spaces, he's a fine crosser and got great vision when it comes to through balls.

As daft as it may sound, we need to try and hang on to our homegrown players who are good enough at this level if we want to progress.

Hume has proven that he is a valuable asset.

He has his limitations, I think we'd all agree, but to label him as a £5m player is laughable. He's played the most minutes in a newly promoted side that could end up finishing 7th or 8th in the PL!!

Can’t believe we’re debating the merits of a player who has started most (and played in all?) of our fixtures in an absolutely unbelievable season.

He’s a quality player. He’s not Real Madrid standard but then very few are. That’s not a criticism of him.

He’ll be key for us next season again I’m sure.

I don't think he is homegrown.

Totally agree on your other point.

A year to establish himself in the team and as a fans favourite. Then get the appreciation from the SOL crown he deserves when we play Real in the champions league…. 😉

I can't beleive no one has mentioned his amazing tache

I honestly never thought I would see the day when one of our players was linked with Real Madrid, even as crazy as it sounds. Hume is a decent right back and while he's no Solgada, should this happen, I would be delighted for all involved.
