Apart from Hank, everyone else who has replied to this are saying it’s true and then asking “isn’t it?”…showing that in most cases, people aren’t sure. They think it’s true but aren’t completely committed. Hence possible conspiracy.

And I’m not sure Hank’s fuzzed brain would ever be the most reliable source.
 
May favourite conspiracy theory is...

Asamoah Gyan was "owned" by the Ghanaian underworld who regarded him as a cash cow and who hawked him around from club to club in order to make money.

When they suddenly pulled him out of SAFC to move to Saudi the Club was somewhat relieved even though the season had just started the transfer window was closed and it left us without a striker for half a season.

... because it all sounds entirely plausible.
