Southampton spying compendium thread

So they’ve done it against Oxford in December and Ipswich in April, probably fair to assume they’ve done it against everyone they’ve played since the new manager was appointed
Very convenient they've "only" done it against Oxford (who beat them so didn't affect the result) and Ipswich (promoted already so don't care). They've blatantly done it against other teams, EFL will be hoping to keep a lid on it.

Nice for hull to have 3 days to prep playing against boro. That doesnt seem fair.

Mind, how pissed off with your club would you be if you were a Southampton fan/player?

I’d be willing to bed they’ve done it to every team since Eckart took over. However Oxford & Ipswich are the only ones with proof.

The turn in form does look extremely suspicious now. I might apply to be the anti spy security guard at our training ground.

Straight into them bushes armed with a german shepherd.

I am delighted. It is the right thing and I am surprised. I was criticising the EFL but wrongly in hindsight. They have got this right and have put the Premier League to shame for their procrastination over Man City. I am delighted also that it stays on Saturday. Not much time for Boro fans to sort things but I'm sure they'll quote.

Shite in Hull - They’ve had to plan to play two teams - Boro and Saints one - they should be kicking right off
Could argue it kept training fresh with lots of ideas.
Not saying tactics aren’t important but at the end of the day you just have to score more goals than the other team either way

Great decision. Not only is it fair to Middlesborough, it would have been unfair to Swindon Town if Southampton got away with it.

I’m not having that like, a bloke taking a video of them training  Unless they set up completely different to how they usually played or made several changes from their usual team it likely had zero effect. Stupid for doing it but the punishment doesn’t fit the crime for me.
As has been posted many times, if it has zero effect why risk doing it and doing it multiple times when the punishments is potential expulsion, fines, points deducted?

The new rules were there in plain sight and 14 teams kicked off about it last time and wrote to the EFL when it came out that Leeds did it. Southampton chose to cheat yet again and they've been caught and punished so tough shit but I feel for the fans as they wouldn't want them to cheat, it's the few knackers at the club that are to blame.
