Anyone not wanting Europe?

Imagine telling the players, who've worked their socks off all season, not to go for it on Sunday because we're scared of what next season might bring!

I don't think they'd take too kindly to that, and a few would be thinking what's the point of being here if the club is scared to progress.
Would be very detrimental to the mindset we have been creating in recent seasons . I doubt it would be appealing for future signings either

Of course, but there are gate revenues and other fan income to add on top of that.

The depth squad needs increasing whether we are in Europe or not, but I'd say the Confrence League allows for a shallower depth of quality compared to the Europa.

Yeah it's doable - especially if we field the kids in the League Cup and replace the older players currently out on loan with younger prospects over the summer.

A nice problem to have. And even the worst case scenario - 14th behind the mags - is a great result given the derby double.

I think it would be bad for us really.

But Im sat here looking at permutations and calling for flares and carnage to disrupt Chelsea so that tells me I want to get into Europe.

I haven't even got a ticket now as the one I had lined up is no longer available.

I think the current board and manager running the club have earned the right to be trusted that we would recruit properly to build the squad depth needed for the extra matches.
I really dislike how the cups and Europe are written off as a distraction these days. 1973 since we last won something and only four matches played in Europe. Not as if weve been spoilt with success in the league either in that time. I would love us to qualify.

Can't believe I'm asking this but there's a few lads in work this morning saying we shouldn't be looking to win on Sunday as if we qualify for europe it all but guarentees relegation next year...

Just wondering if anyone shares the same opinion? For me it's a no brainer, opportunities like this don't come around often and we should be snapping the hands off it.
How on earth is that you can ok whatever players you want we have a squad that we will be improving
I'm nervous about the extra financial restrictions which I think most of us are slightly .

I also have faith in our owners to find a plan to cope
What’s the final restrictions yes you can spend less of your turnover than now but your turnover is a lot bigger

I understand the concerns regarding restrictions on spending if we end up in the Conference League,

But the limit on what we can spend is not the full story. Spending money wisely through good recruitment is key.

We have seen other teams this season spend vast amounts of money on utter shite so the spending limit is not the bottom line.

The costs of particpating in the Conference League are barely covreed by the additional income, and are far outweighed by the 15% lower spensing cap.
As someone has already mentioned, qualifying for the main league phase and doing reasonably well could bring in roughly £4m–£7m total. A deep run to the semis/final (with West Ham have won, and Palace are doing now) could push it into the £10m–£15m+ region. This is before ticket sales and TV money, so add extra on top too. On paper that sounds like a win to me, how much would the operating costs be to participate?

When it comes to the 15% lower spending cap compared to the PL rules, it does put us at a disadvantage compared to the clubs around and below us. I’m optimistic that we’ll be fine with it but who knows.

I trust the club to have a plan for any scenario...It doesn't seem like we have a bunch of divs running the club.

bring it on...

( I was on the fence earlier on in the season I'll admit)

never going to happen though is it ?

You only have to look at Satori's Facebook from yesterday to see they desperately want us in Europe

I do question some on here like

I was talking to a friend after yesterday's match who said he didn't really fancy it as the squad depth is limited at the moment and he reckons next season would be difficult playing in Europe and coping with the prem.

Safety was always my goal following promotion, however since that's been achieved, we can now look forward, it's not out of the question but either way it has been a great season for us and good ever since Reggie came in.

I honestly want to get Europe, qualifying would be something special and I think we would have a plan in place. Our recruitment has been brilliant and, even with European competition next season, I feel we'd be too strong to go down next year.

From the Ligue 1 table, it looks like Monaco have failed to qualify. Rennes have the Conference League slot. Saves potential bother about ownership and influence. Not sure how that will impact Adingra.

I’m glad we’ve got some ambitious players, coaches and owners and not some of you lot

We'll need a bigger squad. but we'll likely play the squad players in the early rounds.
Yeah agreed
You name a 25 man squad for it anyway
No, who knows when we get the chance to play in Europe again.

Our European pedigree is very poor for the size of the club. Much smaller English teams have played in Europe in the last 20 years. It’s time to get the passports out.
Don’t dive in booking unless you are high on points (if we make it)
Some of these grounds, especially in the Conference League are very small and they only have to give 5%
Many allocations for away clubs have been 250 to 500 tickets

Can't believe some think the club don't want it. Of course they do.

The players have all made posts the last 24 hours about one final push. They know whats on offer and they want it.

No two games in Football are the same but I cannot see any way in which we don't win Chelsea on Sunday. The crowd will be loudest of all season, we've just played two games off the back in the most outstanding way. If they go into this final game with that mindset its ours.
